Linda Carroll: Liar! Stop talking about how "different" the thinking of the rich is

author:Nine Crows Culture

Linda Carroll is a well-known American writer who recently published an article that is poignantly critical of the so-called rich, the poor man's mind, and those who teach the poor how to make money.

Linda Carroll: Liar! Stop talking about how "different" the thinking of the rich is

She said that I was confused for a moment and clicked on a headline, but I couldn't read it all.

This is another "rich people do what the poor don't do", you know.

They will generally say:

Poor people will ask $5 questions, not $5,000 questions.

Poor people make poor financial choices.

The poor are accustomed to consumption, not assets.

……

I don't know why people write that nonsense, I wanted to curse after seeing it.

I just hope they are well-intentioned, that they see the world as it is, and are willing to help, not just lie.

I tell two true stories to prove why their nonsense is wrong.

The first one.

Billy Foster, who works at Amazon, put an item in the wrong box one day. In less than 2 minutes, his manager was there yelling at him.

But when he had a heart attack, no one even noticed.

He first lay there, curled up on the floor, for 20 minutes.

Then it was discovered by the staff of the nearby department, and it was also repeatedly delayed.

In the end, he died in the warehouse.

But when the paramedics took Billy's body away, all the terrified staff were told to go back to work immediately.

An Amazon worker on duty said: "After the incident, everyone was forced to go back to work. No time to unpack. It's basically watching a man die and then being told to go back to work. ”。

The second.

When Jeff Bezos was still wearing diapers, his mom and dad broke up. One of them was 17 years old and one was 19 years old.

When his mom packed his bags and ran away, he told his dad never to contact them, and then married a millionaire.

That's how Jeff got his last name Bezos.

Today, Jeff Bezos is one of the richest men in the world, and he loves to give speeches about the reasons for his success.

In one of his speeches, he said that in life, you can have a job, you can have a career, and you can have a mission.

This is not without reason.

Ironically, he thinks he succeeded because he heeded Call of Duty.

He certainly wouldn't say that his mom's father was director of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission (AEC). He went to Princeton. He works on Wall Street and earns six figures right out of college.

His social circle is made up of wealthy people, and as soon as he spoke out, someone came up with a check for $25,000 to fund his idea.

Do you have a friend who can come up with $25,000 to test a business idea?

Yes, neither do I.

But he thinks he succeeded because he didn't settle for a job or career, but followed his mission.

"You can have a job, you can have a career, you can have a mission," he said. If you can somehow figure out how to call, you've hit the jackpot..."

So what's the real difference between Billy and Jeff?

Linda Carroll: Liar! Stop talking about how "different" the thinking of the rich is

The boxes in Amazon's warehouse are certainly not Billy Foster's mission, and after his death, his brother could only cry so much that he couldn't stop.

He said that a few days before Billy's heart attack, he went to the AmCare clinic at the warehouse to report repeated headaches and chest pain. They measured his blood pressure and said he was just dehydrated. Then I gave him two free drinks and asked him to go back to work.

And what did Amazon do after that?

They insisted he did not die in the warehouse. He was pronounced dead in hospital, they said. That's what worries them.

Billy's brother also once told the media that the deaths had to stop because it wasn't just Billy. This is of course true.

For example, 42-year-old Rafael Reinaldo Mota Frías, in New Jersey, died of a heart attack. Roger Boland, in the city of Robbinsville, died after falling off a ladder and hitting his head. Alex Carrillo, 22, died on August 1 in a forklift accident in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

I could go on, but that's not the point.

The difference between Jeff Bezos and his employees is not that Bezos follows his mission, they don't.

It wasn't he who made the $5,000 decision, not the $5 decision.

It's not what he invested, when he woke up, and not all stupid nonsense written by admirers of rich people.

This is socio-economic class.

The ugly difference between rich and poor ...

Maria Fernandez, like Bezos, found her calling. She wants to be a beautician and help women feel beautiful. She believes that every woman should feel beautiful.

The problem was, she didn't have the money to pay her tuition.

So she worked three part-time jobs at 3 different Dunkin Donuts locations, earning $8.25 an hour. She pays her bills while saving up for tuition.

Maria also has a dream. She wants to become a beautician and when she has no financial burden, marry her boyfriend, buy a house, and raise her daughter together.

But she died in her car, napping between shifts.

A tragic accident, she was only 32 years old.

After her death, the New York Wages Board publicly recommended that fast-food restaurant workers in New York earn at least $15 an hour.

But Nigel Travis, CEO of Dunkin Donuts, said on CNN that it was outrageous.

He, a man who earns $5,000 an hour or $10 million a year, thinks it's outrageous to pay workers $15 an hour.

And Jeff Bezos makes $9 billion a month.

That's $2.25 billion a week, $321 million a day. $13.4 million per hour. $222884 per minute. He earns more in a minute than a minimum wage worker earns in ten years.

Well, according to Statista, in 2021, Amazon employed a total of 1.6 million people worldwide, let's do math.

If he gives each employee a $1 raise, it won't cost him an hour's earnings. With a few hours' income, he can make them all live a decent life and have good medical care.

He can double their income without losing a day's income. He doesn't even miss anything.

Instead, he built a phallus-shaped rocket.

Let's think back to 2020, when we had a shutdown because of Covid.

People can't pay their bills. Because they have no deposit. People are working with Covid because they can't afford it.

The world cannot be made up of entrepreneurs who pursue their mission and make great fortunes. We need some work. We need people to do all the "basic" work. We will always need people to call for our groceries and take care of the sick and elderly.

But most often they earn garbage.

Why is that?

It's not because they're asking the wrong question.

Not because they made bad financial decisions.

Not because they don't buy assets ...

They certainly don't buy assets because they don't earn enough.

Most people don't have enough income to do anything other than pay their damn bills, want their children to grow up, and be self-sufficient before they die.

70% of Americans save less than $1,000.

63% of Americans live on a paycheck (78% of Linda's readers correct).

40% of Americans can't afford $400 for emergencies.

46 million Americans can't afford health care.

35 million Americans can't even afford enough food.

71% of Americans are saddled with debt.

31% don't earn enough to save more than $100 a month.

26% don't make enough money to save money.

So the conclusion: you - sir - a liar.

I said at the beginning that I wanted you to write "rich man" nonsense because you really care about people and you want to help, but I don't think you will.

Because if you really care about others, you will understand that the rich people make everyone else poor.

The reason why the rich buy assets instead of those that don't increase in value is because they have money.

The reason why poor people make the $5 decision to spend their money on things of low value is because groceries, utilities, rent, while never appreciating, are necessities of life.

But are you completely unaware of this?

Surely not.

I think you've just found another way to make money from the poor. You know people are hurting. You find a way to cash out.

Know what this made you do?

A liar.

Happy deception, sir. I won't read it again. I unfollow.

"The earth can satisfy everyone's needs, but it cannot satisfy everyone's greed." Mahatma Gandhi said.

——The meaning of this article reminds me of a conversation.

Fitzgerald said, "Rich people are not like you or me. ”

Hemingway said, "Yes. They have more money. ”
