"Once Upon a Time in the Northeast" was released, starring Bao Bell, a fierce movie that lacks humanistic temperament

On November 3, the movie "Once Upon a Time in the Northeast: My Name is Zhao Hongbing" was launched on the genuine video platform. This film starring Zhang Junhan, Bao Bell and other actors, tells the story of Zhao Hongbing rescuing a little boy. The film is based on Kong Ergou's novel "Once Upon a Time in the Northeast". Based on the content of the whole film, my personal opinion is: this movie takes the competition as the main attraction, lacks basic humanistic values, and belongs to a "more typical bad film".

In the film, the male protagonist Zhao Hongbing injured others and was sentenced. After being released from prison, Zhao Hongbing began to take care of the children of the victims. The child was used by a criminal gang, and Zhao Hongbing rescued the child many times. In the general offensive stage of the story, this criminal gang kidnapped the child and demanded a ransom of 150,000 yuan. The police station has arranged police forces to prepare for arrest, but Zhao Hongbing and others still went deep into the tiger's den and staged a rescue scene of a lone hero.

After watching this "Once Upon a Time in the Northeast" starring Bao Bell and other actors, the old editor felt extremely embarrassed. First of all, there is a problem with the narrative logic of this film. Especially in the general offensive stage of the story, the police station has arranged a large number of police forces to prepare to arrest this group of criminals, but Zhao Hongbing and others still have to go deep into the tiger's den and engage in hand-to-hand combat with criminals. This is hard to convince fans. The police personnel are all armed and equipped, and on the side of the criminals, it is just a group of stragglers. In this case, Zhao Hongbing and others rushed in front of the police station personnel and rushed in, is there any value?

Based on this, my feeling is that this movie is actually just an overly simple competition. "Once Upon a Time in the Northeast" takes fights as a highlight, trying to use this kind of thing to satisfy the curiosity of some fans. In the handling of fight scenes, there is a lack of basic logical rationality. And this kind of film, what should really be vigilant is that it promotes the content of "fighting fiercely", but lacks basic humanistic values.

Let's give two examples of other mountain stones. In the recently released movie "No War on the Western Front", fighting and killing are also presented. However, the way this film is presented does not allow fans to see the thrill of war fighting, but puts everyone in a fear of death and reflection on war. On the other hand, the narrative attitude of "Once Upon a Time in the Northeast" is very the fight in the general attack stage of the story, and the attention of fans is all tied to the fight. This kind of film is proud of fighting.

Another example is Guan Hu's "Old Cannon". In this film, there is also a villain force similar to that in "Once Upon a Time in the Northeast", and the decent side is also trying to solve the problem by inserting shelves. However, director Guan Hu chose the most humanistic restraint in the overall attack stage of the story, and filmed a large number of fight scenes, on the contrary, let the male protagonist carry a big knife and fall on the ice, and the picture stopped abruptly. This is the transmission of true humanistic values.

After watching "No War on the Western Front" and "Old Cannon", and then watching this "Once Upon a Time in the Northeast" starring Bao Bell and others, you will find that the film regards the fight as a very important content, and is happy to present this kind of fighting content, trying to let fans find the thrill of the movie in the fight picture. This approach is not advanced in itself. The value and emotion finally transmitted by the film have not realized humanism, and can only realize another affirmation of "fighting ruthlessly".

On the other hand, Kong Ergou's novel "Once Upon a Time in the Northeast", the problem is similar, taking the "underworld" as a highlight, but lacking humanistic care for the real daily life of the people in the northeast. In a certain era, there have indeed been some people who do not do serious things, and they have gathered in groups. Kong Ergou's "Once Upon a Time in the Northeast" is a description of this group of people. However, in a story that does not follow the right path, there is a lack of scrutiny of the fight itself. Especially these people who do not follow the right path, why is so, the novel also lacks deeper inquiry.

Narrative of fighting as the greatest pleasure, but lack of the ability to ask why to fight, whether it is a novel or a movie, presents an incorrect creative concept. In this movie, both sides of the fight are tragic, and their lives should not be like this. However, the film does not enter into a tragic inquiry, but only enjoys the glimpse of the fight. Such a film, and the creative attitude behind its film, are exaggerated and lack positive value.

And Bao Bell's role in the film also gives people a sense of frivolity. This thin, flat character performance treatment has to make fans doubt Bauber's acting ability again. For Bao Bell, he has starred in several similar fierce movies. However, what he really needs are those characters with warmth and human feelings. And these characters, is Bao Bell ready? Can he handle it? This is also worth asking. (Text/Ma Qingyun)
