China's mountains and rivers are vast, many people like to travel by car, in recent years, Xinjiang, Tibet and Inner Mongolia have become popular tourist destinations for self-driving travel, especially the Hulunbuir Grassland, to the blossoming season, from Hailar, Inner Mongolia, all the way to the Mohe River in Heilongjiang, is a classic self-driving route, the scenery along the way from the grassland to the forest, walking along the Sino-Russian border, the scenery is very spectacular.
Hulunbuir's self-driving journey can not only enjoy the beautiful grassland scenery, when driving to Genhe, here meet the last hunting tribe in China, you can also get close to the reindeer, such a picture is like a fairy tale scene reproduction, people like it.
China's last hunting tribe lives in the Aoluguya Evenk Ethnic Township in The Root River of Inner Mongolia, and when we drove here, we were enchanted by the scene in front of us, the cute reindeer running freely on the green grass, foraging, and there was a wooden hut next to it, which was as beautiful as a postcard.
400 years ago in Lake Baikal, the leader of the Evenk people, with their people and reindeer, traveled through thousands of rivers and mountains to settle on the northwest slope of the Daxing'an Mountains, where they lived a nomadic life until 1965 to settle in Aoluguya, and in 1973 they established the Aoluguya Evenk Nationality Township, where they now live off reindeer.
People who have come to Genhe know that it is known as China's cold pole, and there are 210 days of time in a year that belong to the frozen period, and the reindeer is an animal that grows in a cold area, and the temperature of the Root River is just very suitable for the growth of reindeer, coupled with the good ecological environment of Daxing'anling, reindeer can grow and develop well here.
The Evenk people have a long history of raising reindeer. Legend has it that a long time ago, their 8 ancestors hunted in the mountains, caught 6 wild deer cubs to bring back to breed, over time, developed into today's artificial reindeer, we came to the BuDongxia tribe, where more than a hundred reindeer were domesticated.
Here adults and children can get close to the reindeer, you can also feed them, reindeer may have long been accustomed to close contact with humans, not afraid of people at all, the food requirements and choices are higher, to eat the moss in the forest mainly, according to different seasons also like to eat some grass, leaves, mushrooms and the like. Therefore, moss is the reindeer's favorite food, moss mainly grows in the western foothills of the Daxing'an Mountains in the cold and humid places, all year round in the forest, which is also a good reason why reindeer can grow in the Root River.
Vast grassland, fresh air, good natural ecological environment, so that the reindeer to find a habitat, here also because of the arrival of tourists, increased income, Aoluguya Evenk Nationality Township is the only pure forest area ethnic township in Genhe City, but also the only ethnic minority township in China to raise reindeer. In 2008, the Evenk reindeer custom was approved by the State Council to be included in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
In Evenk we also saw some simple buildings, which are known locally as the Fort of the Mile, which is a simple building built when the Evenk was nomadic, and when they leave, they will not be demolished, reserved for the people behind or the people who are lost in the mountains.
From nomadic to settled, the Evenk people have also gone through a long process, and now the Evenk still have about 30,000 members, which is the fourth smallest ethnic minority in our country.
Next to the reindeer farm, there is a fiery pit that catches my attention, which is what the locals call handmade lieba, which is made from fermented deer milk and barley flour, and the entrance is soft and fragrant, very delicious.
