Marcus Rashford is approaching his 25th birthday and England Demon is playing with a smile back and believes Manchester United's new manager Ten Hag is credited.
Rashford's form and confidence slipped last season, with both starters and substitutes in a sluggish performance, scoring just five goals. But after the change of manager, he began to enjoy football, scoring six goals and assisting three times, surpassing last season.
Marcus Rashford said: "I felt like I was going to succeed. Moreover, I am happier and enjoy myself more. I'm just looking forward to the game and it's really a pleasure to work with the manager. Hard work? Yes, but I think we enjoyed it and the team played better."
Marcus Rashford believes the best example of United's freshman was a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge. The Reds were led by penalties just before the end of the 90th minute, but Casemiro drew in stoppage time. Marcus Rashford believes this shows the new spirit of a new team.
Rashford said: "Everyone is ready, everyone is up to the challenge and ready to fight. In my opinion, the game against Chelsea is a microcosm. We conceded late but still had the courage and determination to score. We were disappointed with the result of the draw, but when you look at it from a broader perspective, it was a great game. We signed a few new signings this summer and worked hard to build team spirit quickly. I think the players have integrated well and we know each other more and more. And the team spirit is very high and we want to keep it up."
In the Europa League match against Sherif, Marcus Rashford came off the bench to score a goal, and he also tried a new way of playing, acting as a shadow striker behind Ronaldo. Marcus Rashford is hoping to take his place in Southgate's England squad with his performances.
He is also willing to partner with Ronaldo: "My position is behind Cristiano [Ronaldo], in the middle, but the principle is the same. The manager wants us to do something similar in different positions, play with the striker, get closer to the striker and eventually get into the box and try to score more goals. I feel good to be able to play and have a good impact."
Since a 6-3 defeat to Manchester City, United are unbeaten in seven games, winning five of them and keeping four clean sheets. Marcus Rashford said: "I feel that as long as we don't concede a goal, we have a great chance of winning the game because we keep creating chances. We just have to hold on and be calmer in front of goal."
Manchester United face West Ham at Old Trafford on Sunday, and Marcus Rashford will celebrate his 25th birthday the day after the game. He has scored 99 goals and the next goal will be his 100th career milestone. Now, Chef La is no longer a young talent, but a veteran of the team, and he has expressed his willingness to help the club's youngsters, such as 18-year-old "New Cristiano Ronaldo" Alejandro Garaccio.
Garnerjo started for the club for the first time in the Europa League and played well on the left flank and could be a future rival for Marcus Rashford. But Chef La said: "I think Garanacho has performed very well, he dares to show himself on the pitch and that's what we've always encouraged. He focused on playing football without any fear. He adjusts his opponents, passes them back and crosses and his pressing is excellent. The only thing missing is just a goal, but I think he can be proud of himself. His performances can continue to improve and hopefully he will get more and more playing time. If he continues to play like this, I believe he can succeed."
