Today I would like to share with you one of the greatest American painters of the 20th century.
Andrew. Wise (1917- 2009)
Wise grew up training in painting in his father's studio. At the age of 20, he became famous by holding a solo exhibition in New York.
His creations revolve around the two small towns he once lived.
His main works are watercolors and tempera.
Wise's work is characterized by soft colors, delicate brushstrokes, and subtle depictions.
The emotional tone is mainly sentimental, bleak and sad.
