According to foreign media reports, director James Cameron recently accepted an exclusive interview to talk about the personality changes of some characters in "Avatar 2: The Way of Water".
Cameron said that the film timeline takes place 15 years after the previous work, and the protagonists Jack Sully (Sam Worthington) and Nitri (Zoe Saldana) have different degrees of personality changes. They have children and families, they will be more mature in thinking and will think about more than just survival. For example, they will not jump from a high altitude desperately like the first part, because they will scruple more.
Cameron also lamented that the characters of Marvel and DC, no matter how old they are, behave like college students and will not scruple so much. What about the real love, strength and purpose in the movie? That's not how my films are made.
Because a lot of underwater live-action shooting was used, the actors of "Avatar 2" were also trained to hold their breath and film. Cameron was asked: Which is better to shoot live-action in the water or the heavy use of special effects like "Aquaman" and "The Little Mermaid"?
Cameron replied: Oh, I don't know, maybe it's better with special effects? However, if you want the audience to believe that people are underwater, then you have to have the actors shoot underwater. It's not that difficult, like when you make a Western, you have to learn to ride a horse. I knew very well what effect I needed, so I also hired the best diving experts in the world to help the actors.
