Early life
Brie Larson was born in 1989 in Sacramento, California. Her parents were both homeopathic chiropractors, the family had a clinic, and they had a daughter.
Larson's first language during her childhood was French, and she spent most of her time at home. Looking back on her early life, Larson said she was "stodgy and steady," that she had a good relationship with her mother but was shy to outsiders and suffered from social anxiety disorder.
In the summer, Larson wrote and directed her own family movie, and she hired her cousins to shoot in the garage. At the age of 6, she wanted to be an actress. Later she said, "Making art is something I've always done." Acting career
Larson's first job was performing a commercial spoof for Barbie called "Malibu Mudslide Barbie" on the 1998 show "The Tonight Show" hosted by Jay Leno. Subsequently, she made guest appearances in several TV series, including "The Touch of the Angels" and "Pop". In 2000, she starred in the Fox sitcom Himmel, but the show was canceled before it aired because lead actor Robert Himmel was diagnosed with cancer.
In 2001, Larson played a regular role in the sitcom "Single Dad Raises a Pretty Girl" and briefly dabbled in music, releasing the album Finally Out of P.E. in 2005.

Personal life
Larson was reluctant to talk about her personal life, refusing to answer questions that made her uncomfortable in interviews. As for her desire for privacy, she said she was afraid of being judged for her shortcomings, saying privacy allowed her to play a variety of roles without being stereotyped.
In 2013, Larson dated musician and frontman of Phantom Planet, Alex Greenwald. The couple live together in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles. She credits Greenwald for creating a safe space for her and allowing her to take risks in her work.
