The Formula 1 USA Grand Prix takes place on Sunday at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. After 56 laps of racing, it was none other than Tim Cook who waved the checkered flag.

IT House learned that Cook was one of the famous faces in attendance at the game, along with Shaquille O'Neill, Brad Pitt, Serena Williams and Ed Sheeran. However, Cook was the one who held and waved the flag at the end.

The CEO held and waved a flag on ESPN, wore a dark polo shirt and sunglasses, yet he quickly became the subject of taunting jokes from online critics. Instead of waving quickly or enthusiastically, Cook was credited with "bluntly and slowly moving the flag from side to side."

Many netizens mockingly quipped, "This is not surrender in war", and declared "Hey, grandpa, calm down". Even ESPN has joined in.
