In the movies, he often goes against Harry Potter and Hermione, among others. He is the sworn enemy of their trio.
In Tom Felton's memoir, the actor recalled a time when he made fun of Emma Watson in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. He admits that there were disagreements between the children at the time, divided according to their role house at Hogwarts. Tom Felton said the two groups kept their distance but "were not unfriendly to each other in any way." However, when 9-year-old Emma Watson performed a dance for the actor, Tom Felton and his friends laughed at her.
In response, he said: "I think we feel cooler. We listen to rap music together in our free time, so when I heard Emma Watson organize a small dance show in her dressing room and wanted to show it to us at lunchtime, we dismissed it. We snickered all the way to see Emma's performance, and the snickering grew louder as she danced. We just acted badly, largely out of embarrassment because we thought it was cool to joke, but Emma was clearly irritated by our rash reaction. I do feel a bit like a jerk, and rightfully so. I apologized, and Emma accepted my apology. Everyone has changed. That's just a stupid, adolescent rash act, which happens every day. So why did that moment remain in my memory? Why does it hurt me so much to remember? ”
While Tom Felton and Emma Watson reconciled, the actor admitted that he still felt guilty about the incident and was "ashamed" about his actions. He admits Emma Watson was under a lot of pressure. But, as he said, that was when the child was young. The actors of this film also became very good friends as adults.
Despite Tom Felton's jokes, Emma Watson later admitted that she developed a crush on the co-actor when they worked on the first two Harry Potter films.
