This exhibition is a touring exhibition of Japan entitled "Forever Neighbors: Photo Exhibition to Commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Normalization of Diplomatic Relations between China and Japan" held in Beijing in June this year. In addition to the 110 photographs exhibited in Beijing, the exhibition added 27 photographic works with local Japanese characteristics. The exhibition is divided into three parts: learning from the past and learning the new - 50 years of Sino-Japanese exchange activities; Across the sea - China in the eyes of the Japanese, Japan in the eyes of the Chinese; Facing the future – youth photography in both countries.

Yang Yu said in his congratulatory speech at the opening ceremony that on the 50th anniversary of the normalization of Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations, the leaders of the two countries exchanged congratulatory telegrams, reaffirming the important consensus on promoting the construction of China-Japan relations that meet the requirements of the new era. As neighbors that China and Japan cannot move away, peace, friendship and win-win cooperation are our only correct choices. Revisiting the original aspiration of peace and friendship, drawing inspiration from historical experience, adhering to the spirit of the principles of the four political documents between China and Japan, and taking the important consensus of the leaders of the two countries as the guide to create a more mature and stable Sino-Japanese relationship is the common mission entrusted to us by the times. It is believed that the precious pictures of this exhibition can lead us through history, revisit the original intention of all walks of life in the two countries to look forward to Sino-Japanese friendship for generations to come, evoke memories, draw strength, and enhance the sense of mission and responsibility for maintaining and developing the cause of Sino-Japanese friendship.

Yukio Hatoyama said that Japan and China are not only "neighbors who cannot move", but also "neighbors who do not want to move" and "eternal neighbors". Over the past 50 years, it is precisely with the joint efforts of politicians and a large number of friendly people between the two countries that peace and friendship between the two countries has been achieved today. People-to-people friendship is an indispensable glue for friendly relations between the two countries. It is hoped that Japan-China relations will become better and better in the next 50 years with the joint efforts of everyone.
