Following last year's "Centennial Party: Foreigners Storytelling" Baiji Rong media product, the number of domestic and overseas broadcasts exceeded 1.6 billion, "Foreigners Storytelling" ushered in the second season - "Overseas Employees See China".

100 overseas employees from different countries told their experiences in the overseas branches of Chinese central enterprises and Shanghai enterprises in the most down-to-earth way, and talked about their views on China.

The 38th issue invited Tracy from the United Kingdom, who works for Yuan Tai Cambodia.

"Foreigners Tell Stories: Overseas Employees See China" No. 38

Name: Tracy

Nationality: British

Occupation: Vice President of Yuantai Cambodia

During the peak production season, the production hall of Yuantai's Cambodian factory is busy, hundreds of looms are running at high speed, and workers are engrossed in sewing, ironing and packaging brand new clothes. Tracy walked through the different operating areas, sometimes stopping to look at the progress, sometimes touching the freshly stitched stitches, smiling and greeting the employees.

In February 2004, Tracy joined Luen Thai Holdings Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Orient International Group, and came to Yuantai Supply Chain City in Dongguan as a technical manager. After 18 years, she moved from China to Cambodia, but she has never left the Luen Thai family. Tracy has always been able to navigate the diverse cultures of the UK, China and Cambodia, not only because of her open-mindedness, but also because of the people-first values of Chinese companies, which have given her a warm boost to her career.

China is another home away from my homeland

From a fiber to the final garment, China has formed the world's most complete textile industry chain, and Luen Thai Holdings, where Tracy works, is the leader in this industrial chain. After years of development, Luen Thai Holdings has become one of the world's largest apparel manufacturing groups, transforming from a traditional garment manufacturer to a new garment manufacturing and all-round service provider.

"To this day, I still feel honored to serve such a professional and diverse organization." Looking back on her career, Tracy admits that Luen Thai taught her what it means to "strive for excellence". "Luen Thai has given me the opportunity to develop my career and bring new challenges. Here, I had the opportunity to visit textile mills, yarn companies and customer headquarters in China, greatly increasing my professional knowledge, improving my professional skills, and also honing my leadership skills. ”

"In Dongguan, I built a strong apparel development, technology and quality team to create a world-class development center, which was the most fulfilling and unforgettable time." Tracy can't forget that the friends in the team worked hard together at work and had dinner together during breaks, and those youthful years were recorded in old photos and are still cherished by her.

For Tracy, what she gained in Dongguan is not only a career, but also a family. Here she became a mother of two daughters and entered a whole new phase of her life. "At that moment, China became my home away from home." During this time, she also fell in love with Chinese green tea and lotus root soup, and was no longer the "foreigner" who only knew the Great Wall and the Terracotta Army when she came to China in the early 2000s. She said, "I'm also a fan of retired Houston Rockets basketball player Yao Ming! ”

The company's sense of social responsibility makes me "honored"

As a subsidiary of Luen Thai Holdings, Yuantai has three production bases in China, the Philippines and Cambodia. After working in China for several years, Tracy encountered another opportunity in her career to break new ground in Cambodia.

"I was about to go back to the UK, but the company approached me and said that the newly established Yuan Tai company needed an experienced executive to work in Cambodia and hoped that I could take on this responsibility. This is a fantastic opportunity and I am very excited to be part of the company's strategy for the future. ”

Working in China has given Tracy great confidence and strengthened her ability to work and live in a diverse community, laying a solid foundation for her to be qualified as Vice President of Yuan Tai Cambodia. Even under the circumstances of the epidemic lasting nearly three years, Yuantai's production base in Cambodia is still developing rapidly.

What makes Tracy even more proud is that Luen Thai and Yuan Tai not only provide a large number of local jobs and promote employment, but also have a strong sense of corporate social responsibility, which makes her "honored". "Luen Thai and Yuen Tai create development opportunities for local employees and their children by providing community services and a football program for employees' children. In partnership with other Luen Thai factories in Cambodia, we have established a children's soccer program, sponsored the children of our employees to practice soccer, and hired a professional coach to help and nurture the children. Hopefully, one day, we can see them succeed as professionals. ”

"Joining Luen Thai was the best career decision I ever made." Tracy says this is not only because every day is challenging and keeps her engaged, but also because Chinese companies' "people-centric" values benefit employees while being recognized and respected in the local community.

From the UK, China to Cambodia, the integration of diverse cultures in Tracy is a microcosm of the soft power of Chinese enterprises' overseas teams: professional, open, inclusive and warm.
