According to the American Weekly, the 40-year-old Princess of Wales hopes to repair her relationship with Meghan Markle, also 40, during her upcoming visit to the United States.

"Once Kate and William's plans for Boston have not changed, she plans to extend an olive branch to Meghan to reunite the brothers and bridge the rift," a source told the outlet, adding that Middleton thought it was "wanted" by Princess Diana and the late Queen Elizabeth II.

"Prince Harry and Meghan are caught up in the busy schedule, but Meghan is willing to make an effort as long as the dates don't clash," the person familiar with the matter continued, noting that both groups of royals will gather on the East Coast in December.

Prince William and Middleton, 40, will attend the second annual Earth Photography Awards ceremony in Boston on Dec. 2, their first trip to the United States since 2014.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will also travel east to attend the New York Ripple of Hope Awards Gala organized by Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights (RFKHR).

According to a press release, the couple was named one of this year's Ripple of Hope Award winners for their "work on racial justice, mental health and other social impact initiatives through the Archewell Foundation."
