Founded in 445 BC, the ancient Lixian Terrace in Wei County, Handan City, was a masterpiece of Wei Wen's visit to the Xian, Lixian, Jingxian and Zhao Xianshi of the Wei state during the Spring and Autumn Period. Wei Wenhou built the Lixian Platform, worshiped Duan Ganmu, opened the precedent of the Chinese Noble Kong Chongru, and Li Xian, changed the law to be strong, and dominated the Central Plains for more than a hundred years.
The present-day Lixian Terrace is located on the east side of Wanquan Avenue in Wei County, north of Chang'an Avenue, and was rebuilt in 2010. Lixiantai is surrounded by Mochi Lake on all sides, bordered by Minyou River in the north, Xingyuan River in the east, and Zhanghe Bay in the west. Surrounded by pear orchards, the pear fruit is fragrant, and the local characteristics are strong. There are wharves, suspension bridges, antique stone arches, pear blossom fairies, Du Lang statues and other cultural tourism landscape facilities built around, which is a cultural and ecological scenic spot of Lixiang Water City that shows the fusion of Wei culture and water culture, pear culture, water ecological construction and history and culture.
Legend has it that in ancient times, the Jade Emperor sent Jiao'er Tianlong to observe the people's feelings. The ancient Yellow River flowed through Wei County, and Tianlong came along the river to Bo'er Village in Wei County. At that time, there was a hard-working and kind, well-known filial piety in the village, Du Lang, who was dependent on his blind mother. One day, Du Lang returned home from a busy day in the field, and when he encountered an ancient old man who fell ill on the side of the road, he hurried forward to inquire and carried the old man home, took good care of the decoction medicine, and the old man recovered smoothly. The old man was very happy, and when he bid farewell to Du Lang, he asked him what his wish was. Du Lang said that seeking a cure to heal his mother's eyes was his greatest wish. The old man immediately prescribed a prescription for it and confessed: medicine is easy to grasp, but it is difficult to find a medicine primer. When Du Lang heard that he could cure his mother's eye disease, he hurriedly said that no matter what kind of medicine was introduced, he would also find it. The old man said that the medicine primer is human flesh. Du Lang said, this is easy to do, in order to see the light of day again, why is it difficult to cut a piece of flesh from the body? Under Du Lang's meticulous care, after healing, the mother's eyes really saw the light again. Legend has it that this old man was the embodiment of the Draco Dragon.
Later, Tianlong returned to the Heavenly Court to tell the story of what he had seen in the world. The younger sister Tiannu was touched by Du Lang's character and developed a feeling of admiration, and asked her brother to help her to look at the human world. Tianlong was moved by his sister's infatuation, and made an exception to go to the Hundred Orchard to pick a bouquet of pear branches for Tiannu and send Tiannu to the mortal. After the Heavenly Daughter left the world, she married Du Lang and grafted the pear branch to the Du Pear Tree. After careful cultivation and generations of generations, it has become today's duck pear. Du Lang and Tiannu men cultivate and weave women, give birth to children, and enjoy harmony.
Later, when the Jade Emperor learned of this, he was furious and sent the Heavenly Soldier Heavenly General to capture the Heavenly Daughter back. The goddess of heaven was becoming increasingly emaciated because she missed Du Lang and her children. The Jade Emperor had no choice but to agree to meet Du Lang every year in March and April when the pear blossoms were in full bloom. In order to thank the heavenly daughter for her kindness, the descendants of Lixiang enshrined the "Pear Blossom Fairy" in the pear garden, and every Mid-Autumn Festival, every household placed the abundant duck pears and moon cakes and solemnly thanked them in the bright moonlight.
Du Lang looked affectionately at the pear blossom fairy on the other side.
