Blue-winged leaf plover (scientific name: Chloropsis cochinchinensis): A small bird with a body length of 15–18 cm. The blue-winged male has a pale yellow forehead , a yellowish or brown crown to the nape , and a green covert grass on the back , waist , and tail. The tail feathers are blue-green with dark brown feathers, the central tail feathers are dark green, the outer tail feathers are drill blue, and the outer parts of the tail feathers are more or less stained with green except for the outermost 1-2 pairs of tail feathers. The small coverts on the wings are blue, the primary coverts and winglets are dark blue, the outer bright diamonds are blue, the flight feathers are black, the outer primary flight feathers are bright diamond blue, and the rest of the wings are mostly grassy green on the surface, but deeper than the upper body. The eyes, the eyes are present to the chin, the throat is black, the periphery is a pale yellow ring band, the ring band is embellished with a dirty yellow, the base of the lower mouth has a short purple-blue beard or beard pattern is inconspicuous, diamond blue, the ear feathers are green and dotted with copper brown, the rest of the underparts are pale green or grass green, the thorax is decorated with yellow, the wing margins are blue, and the underwing coverts are gray-brown and green. Females have green upperparts, a green forehead, the surface of the wings and the upper body are the same color, the small coverts on the wings are light diamond blue, the winglet feathers and primary coverts are blue-green, and the outer flight feathers are light blue. The eyes are blue-green first, and the eye area is green. The chin and throat are pale bluish-green in the center, and the rest are similar to male birds. The iris is brown to brown, the mouth is black, and the tarsals are pale gray or light blue.
Distribution in China: Yunnan (Yingjiang, Southwest, Xishuangbanna, Hekou)
It inhabits evergreen broad-leaved forests, secondary forests and margin sparsely forested shrubs below 1500 m above sea level, especially in drier and sparser forests, but also in secondary shrublands, orchards and small trees near farmland. Habits: Often in pairs or small groups. Arboreal, mainly active on the canopy and shrubs of trees, but also perched on trees at night.
The breeding season is from April to June. The nest is on a tree, the nest is cup-shaped, mainly woven from thin, soft dry grass stems, and there are cobwebs on the outer wall of the nest. The size of the nest is 6-7 cm in diameter, 6-6.5 cm in depth, 5-9 m in height from the ground, and usually lays 2-3 eggs per clutch. The eggs are milky white or pinkish white, covered with irregular hairy gray, black, purple or reddish-brown spots
