On September 13, the President of Kyrgyzstan and Commander-in-Chief of the National Armed Forces, Sadr Zaparov, attended the unveiling ceremony of the UAV Base of the Border Protection Bureau of the National Security Council of Kyrgyzstan .
Speaking to the border guards, Zaparov pointed out that peace and stability in the country begin at the border.
"That is why I regard ensuring the security of Kyrgyzstan's borders as one of the country's development priorities. In the future, I will continue to work to improve the living conditions of border guards. He said.
It is reported that in 2021, the country purchased drones for the border protection bureau for the first time in the form of state budget allocations.
Speaking of the opening of the drone base, Zaparov stressed that the base will carry out the main air defense tasks of the ground forces and military units of the Kyrgyz Armed Forces to protect the country's borders.
He expressed the hope that the combat equipment purchased to strengthen border security would only be used for exercises to protect Kyrgyzstan's sovereignty.
"I always say that Kyrgyzstan is a peace-loving country. I stress that our efforts to strengthen the armed forces are focused only on defence. He said.
The President congratulated the opening of the base and asked the personnel of the base to inherit the tradition of defending the national borders and serve the motherland with a high sense of responsibility and patriotism.
"I believe that the trust and hope of the people will give you strength to achieve great success in the future and guard the security of the border." He said.
Zaparov became familiar with the infrastructure of the air base, as well as combat operations exercises that use strike drones to protect national borders.
Bayraktar drones are piloted by trained border guards, the first of the country's border guards to protect the state border in the air.
