He Changgong (December 8, 1900 – December 29, 1987), formerly known as He Kun, was a native of Huarong, Hunan. In 1918, he graduated from the Hunan Changsha A-type Industrial School, went to the French Language Seminary in Changxindian, Beijing, and went to France in 1919 to study work-study. In 1922, he joined the Young Communist Party of China in Europe in France and became a member of the Communist Party of China in the same year.
At the beginning of 1923, he left France to enter the University of Labor in Belgium. In 1924, he returned to China and engaged in secret work of the party. In 1925, he engaged in the student movement in Nan County, Hunan Province, Huarong, and served as the principal of Xinhua School, and served as the secretary of the COMMUNIST Party Committee of the school, creating a CCP group organization in the region.
