According to data from the Ministry of Commerce, since 2012, China's import and export of service trade has maintained a rapid growth momentum, with an average annual growth rate of 6.1%, 3.1 percentage points higher than the global growth rate, and the total amount of service trade ranks second in the world for eight consecutive years.

Li Jun, director of the Institute of International Trade in Services of the Research Institute of the Ministry of Commerce, said that in the context of uncertainty in world economic growth, the "report card" of China's trade in services and the successful holding of the trade fair show the growth potential of China's trade in services.

Digital trade has led to the recovery of global trade in services.

Moving forward towards a global shared goal

At the "Beijing Theme Day" of this year's service trade fair, Air China Co., Ltd. and Rolls-Royce jointly established a new civil aircraft engine maintenance joint venture company, Beijing Aero Engine Maintenance Co., Ltd., and officially signed a contract to settle in the Linkong Economic Zone of Beijing Capital International Airport to provide maintenance services for airline customers in Greater China and other regions.

"The announcement of the joint venture is an important milestone for Rolls-Royce in China." Chris Cholerton, president of Rolls-Royce Civil Aviation, said that in the past, he has grown hand in hand and made many achievements, and looks forward to continuing to work together in the future.

From the perspective of the Chinese market, Yu Bin, deputy director of the Development Research Center of the State Council, said that the rapid expansion of Demand for professional and high-quality services by Chinese enterprises and consumers will provide more development opportunities for multinational companies to operate in China.

During this session of the service trade fair, eight international business associations, multinational banks and professional service institutions, including the Britain-China Business Association, became the first global partners to invest in Beijing.

Zhao Tang, president of the China-Britain Business Council, said that the association will continue to strengthen cooperation with Beijing, actively introduce British enterprises, and assist member companies to do a good job in business development in China. Maya Hua, director of the World Bank's China, Mongolia and Korea Bureau, said that China's recent policy initiatives to expand opening up, such as joining the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and continuing to promote accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), show that China has made the opening up of the service sector a priority, which will inject impetus into the global economic recovery after the epidemic.
