According to Taiwan media reports, Romualds said a few days ago that considering the current tense Sino-US relations, if there is a war in the Taiwan Strait, in order to protect the Philippines' own security, the Philippine side may consider letting the US military use the Philippine military base to intervene.
In addition, Romualdez also said that he hopes that all the identified points of U.S.-Philippines military cooperation can be operational within 3 years.
Judging from the actual situation, Romualdez's statement is nothing more than two meanings, on the one hand, to help the "big brother" United States threaten China's concessions in the Taiwan Strait situation, and on the other hand, it is for the Philippines' own interests and threaten China to make concessions in the South China Sea situation.
But no matter which of these two aspects of the issue, China is unlikely to make concessions.
As far as the situation in the Taiwan Strait is concerned, in fact, the Chinese side has reiterated many times that Taiwan affairs are China's internal affairs and that no external forces have the right to interfere; if it were not for the Fact that the Taiwan authorities were seeking to collude with external forces and the United States and others were delusional about "using Taiwan to control China," why would the situation in the Taiwan Strait have reached an unprecedented level of tension.

As far as the situation in the South China Sea is concerned, there is nothing to dispute.
In fact, the key to the dispute between China and the Philippines in the South China Sea lies in the so-called "South China Sea arbitration case".

Therefore, this time, Manaro also has a very high self-esteem when seeking to restart sino-Philippine cooperation in oil and gas development in the South China Sea, and the eight words of cooperation have not been skimmed, and it has been revealed inside and outside the words that China should immediately agree to cooperate with the Philippine side and should follow the meaning of the "South China Sea Arbitration Case" to make concessions.
However, it is clear that Manaro has not yet recognized who has the initiative in cooperation in the South China Sea between China and the Philippines.
Combined with the actual situation, due to the sanctions imposed by the United States and the West on Russia, the current world is basically in a serious energy crisis, not only facing energy shortages, oil prices have soared, and the Philippines will take the lead in proposing to restart cooperation, which just shows that the Philippines' energy crisis is already very serious, so it will hit the idea of oil and gas in the South China Sea.
But in contrast, China has not experienced energy shortages even in this period, thanks to its two oil suppliers, Russia and Saudi Arabia, not to mention that Russia has exported a large amount of low-priced oil to China.
Therefore, in terms of cooperation in resource development in the South China Sea, China is not in a hurry and occupies the initiative to restart cooperation.
Because of this, the Philippines urgently needs "chips" to counter China and gain the initiative in cooperation in the South China Sea, and the "chips" selected by the Philippine side now seem to be undoubtedly to strengthen military cooperation with the United States and interfere in Taiwan affairs.
