The Yani National Wetland Park, located at the confluence of the Brahmaputra and Niyang Rivers, is the first stop of General Secretary Xi Jinping's inspection of Tibet in 2021. On the morning of July 21, 2021, General Secretary Xi Jinping, who had just arrived at Nyingchi Milin Airport, came to the Niyang River Bridge to listen to a briefing on the ecological environmental protection and nature reserve construction of the Brahmaputra and Niyang River Basins. Over the past year and more, the Tibet Autonomous Region Party Committee, the government and Nyingchi City have thoroughly implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on the work of Tibet and the Party's strategy for governing Tibet in the new era, always keeping in mind the general secretary's entrustment, especially the spirit of the important instruction that "the greatest value of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is in ecology, the greatest responsibility is in ecology, and the greatest potential is in ecology", conscientiously practicing the "two mountains" theory, high-standing layout, precise policy, on the basis of finding out the current situation of wetland resources, grasping the key links of ecological protection, and strengthening the protection of wetlands. Promote the protection of Yanni National Wetland Park to a new level.

Now, Yani National Wetland Park is more abundant in water and grass, and the river is clear; Birds graze fangzhou and are full of life.

Since 2021, Nyingchi City has strengthened strategic cooperation with scientific research institutions such as Tibet University and Tibet Agricultural and Animal Husbandry College, and has laid 10 survey and monitoring lines and 12 water quality monitoring points in wetland parks to investigate and monitor key ecological environment indicators such as plant vegetation, birds, insects and other animals, as well as meteorological, hydrological and water quality. The survey found 64 species in 53 genera and 30 families of plants such as Asteraceae, Rosaceae, Sedge Family, and Grass Family. Preliminary monitoring found 154 species of butterflies, beetles, bees, moths and other insects in 4 orders, 19 families, 134 genera and so on. 57 species of birds were observed, including 1 species of national class I key protected birds (for black-necked cranes) and 7 species of national level II key protected birds, and for the first time more than 110 large populations of black-necked cranes were observed, and a new record of gray goose distribution was found in wetlands. In particular, more than 30% of the species of wetland plants in the region belong to Tibet. The resource background of Yanni National Wetland Park is clearer and the biodiversity is richer.

As of June 2022, the wetland vegetation restoration area has reached 1,839 mu, and the ecological function of the wetland has been effectively restored. Continuously deepen the cooperation between university and local scientific research, and further promote scientific research monitoring, science popularization education and facilities construction. In September 2021, the Yani National Wetland Park Administration and Tibet University signed the agreement on "Cooperation and Joint construction of the Tibet Yani Wetland Ecosystem Positioning Observation and Research Station", and in January 2022, the State Forestry and Grassland Administration approved the construction of the National Positioning Observation and Research Station of the Yani Wetland Ecosystem in Tibet, and was officially listed in July 2022, opening a new stage of scientific protection, rational utilization and comprehensive development of the Yani National Wetland Park.

Establish a management and protection system, adopt a combination of daily supervision and mass patrols, carry out daily patrol and management work, and ensure that there are no dead ends, no formalities, and no gaps. It has successively carried out special actions such as ecological environmental protection supervision, Green Shield action, forest inspection, etc., and from time to time organizes and carries out large-scale inspections, joint law enforcement inspections of wetland protection, and special rectification of acts of destruction and encroachment on wetlands, and gradually increases the rectification of the ecological environment of wetlands and maintains wetland biodiversity. In 2021, through the comparison and judgment of remote sensing images of the wetland park in 2016 and 2020, no illegal project points were found, and the "load-bearing wall" of wetland ecological protection was more stable and firm.

In particular, the significant improvement of the ecological environment of Yani National Wetland Park not only solves the problem of wind and sand that has plagued the local people for many years, but also attracts a large number of tourists who come to visit, which has become the best viewing place for Nyingchi peach blossoms and black-necked cranes, and the local people have participated in the tourism service industry through the sale of agricultural products, family hotels, etc., which has greatly broadened the channels for increasing income, earned tourism money, and eaten ecological meals, and the local people have also spontaneously turned into firm supporters and active participants in wetland ecological protection.
