Sepand Danesh is an Iranian artist whose work has a cube-shaped figure, in a corner of a space without floors and ceilings, like being confined to a prison without walls, and just one step will fall into an endless abyss, and most people who see his works will have the idea of being trapped and wanting to escape.
Sebastian. At the age of 13, Danesh traveled from Iran to Los Angeles and then to Paris, where he settled. He is adept at using drawings, paintings and trompeil paintings to enlighten the viewer to think about the current situation of human beings. His work blends the experiences and memories of wartime with grand memories of human history, with a short and unique narrative.
The central theme of Danesh's work is "escape", where fragments of his life are rigorously arranged in an endless grid. He told everyone: "Whenever I feel trapped, I frequently flash images in my mind. The combination of these images is a fast-paced film that I remember fondly, with a plot that includes my years in Tehran, my parents, my house, the street, my neighbors, my schooling experiences in the post-war period, and the experience of immigrating from Tehran to Paris."
