China remains cambodia's largest source of property investment

On the morning of August 24, Li Lamei, state secretary of the Ministry of Land Planning and Construction, revealed at a press conference that the construction industry and the real estate industry are an important part of the country's economic development, and the two countries with the most investment in Cambodia are China, followed by South Korea and Vietnam.

According to the National Bank of Cambodia, FDI inflows rose 12 percent in 2019 to $3.4 billion, compared to $2.3 billion this year. China is the largest country of direct investment, accounting for 43%, followed by South Korea and Vietnam at 11% and 7%, respectively, while Japan and Singapore also account for 6%.

Cambodia's Ministry of Construction is promoting more than 8,000 affordable housing projects

Tang Zhansangwa, state secretary of the Ministry of Land Planning and Construction, said at an August 24 news conference that in accordance with the government's policy on improving the people's right to affordable housing, the ministry is promoting the implementation of four housing projects, a total of 8331 buildings. There are also 2,960 private units developed in housing projects.

The four housing projects are:

1. Developed by WorldBridge Home Co., Ltd. with a total of 2457 buildings, located in Dajin'ou City, Ganla Province. Phase I has been completed and 680 houses will be handed over to the people in 2020. Phase II is now 95% complete;

2. Developed by B & BM Development Co., Ltd. with a total of 5340 buildings, located in Bonel county, Ganla Province, the project is 93% complete;

3. Developed by ARAKAWA Co., Ltd.,Private Unit, with a total of 2,960 buildings, located in Sen Suo District, Phnom Penh City. Among them, the first phase has been completed, and the second phase has been completed 77%;

4. Developed by BRGP Property Co., Ltd. with a total of 534 buildings, located in Posenzhi District, Phnom Penh City. Phase I has been completed and Phase II is 13% complete.

In the first 6 months of this year, 2,000 investment projects were developed in Cambodia

According to the report of the Cambodian Ministry of Land Planning and Construction, as of the first six months of 2022, a total of 2,000 projects have been developed in Cambodia, with an investment of about US$1.206 billion.

From 2000 to the first six months of 2022, the ministry issued a total of 57,590 building permits nationwide, with a total investment of $66.205 billion, the report said. Among them, there are 2,472 high-rise projects with more than 5 floors in the country, and 482 projects in residential areas and housing projects.
