Rhino Stone
The northeast corner of Spain is a beautiful rocky coastline. There is a large strange stone here, less than a hundred miles from the town where Dali was born, and the boat looks like a camel that has squatted down from the sea; Looking at a different angle and a distance, it looks like a rhinoceros with sharp horns crossing the rocks. It is well known that Dalí was obsessed with the sharp-horned rhinoceros, which he saw as the geometric basis of all arcs.
He said: "The curve of the rhino horn is the only perfect logarithmic spiral, and when I was painting my Christ, I suddenly found that he was all made of rhino horn." He said: "I, Dalí, after a long period of self-examination and careful analysis of the subtle twists in my thinking, suddenly understood that I had unconsciously painted rhino horns all my life. ”
Only his childhood friends knew that the secret was what it was—he was indeed inspired by this stone.
