According to the notice requirements of the "Nanjing Municipal Measures for the Administration of the Education and Placement of Special Children and Adolescents (Trial)", in order to further do a good job in the enrollment of special needs students in our district in 2022 and implement the policy, Xuanwu Special School has recently carried out two tasks: "Ability Assessment of Special Needs Students" and "Evaluation Report and Placement Suggestions for Special Needs Students", with the participation of students, parents, teachers, and members of the Special Education Expert Committee of Xuanwu District.

On June 28, the school carried out the evaluation of new students according to the assessment plan, including the PEP-3 assessment for autistic students and the assessment of the Peizhi School curriculum.

On the morning of August 8, 2022, Nanjing Xuanwu District Special Education School held a new student evaluation report and enrollment placement work meeting, which was attended by Chen Jinyou, special researcher of Jiangsu Special Education Development Guidance Center, Xu Rong, director of the Office of Nanjing Classroom Enrollment Resource Center, Wang Minjie, chief physician of The Affiliated Brain Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, Wang Jiaoyan, vice president of the Rehabilitation College of Nanjing Special Education Normal College, Zhu Liling, principal of Xuanwu Special Education School, Director Xu Jing, Teacher Yang Chen, new students and parents attended the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, Xu Jing, director of Xuanwu Special School, introduced the enrollment of special needs students in our district this academic year and the student assessment work that had been completed in the early stage. Then, Director Xu Jing and Ms. Yang Chen reported the assessment results of the students to the experts respectively. Subsequently, the experts conducted one-by-one interviews with students and parents with special needs, and gave reasonable placement suggestions one by one based on the students' learning environment, placement methods and development directions.
All along, Xuanwu Special School attaches great importance to the assessment and placement of special needs students, and regards it as an important measure to improve the scientificity, pertinence and effectiveness of special education, which provides a practical guarantee for students with special needs to get appropriate education, and also lays a good foundation for the refined development of special education.
