In June this year, during the period when the ultraviolet rays in Xinjiang's Altay region were at their strongest, the "Guard Jinshan 2022" field training and "Flame Blue" competitions of the Forest Fire Fighting Detachment in the Altay region kicked off. The whole content of the competition covers 26 contents in 14 subjects in three modules of fire fighting, comprehensive rescue and physical fitness competition, all of which are necessary for actual combat, quality must, and post training.
Preparing for a contest is a painful and long journey. In the early morning, the first rays of sunlight shone on the training ground, the shouts of the heavens were heard, the competition team members were training, and beads of sweat dripped from the tanned faces of the team members. "The purpose of preparing for the competition is to be able to withstand the test of actual combat," Bai Licheng, third-level fire chief of the second squadron of the Altay Detachment of the Xinjiang Forest Fire Brigade, deeply understood this sentence.
The Altay Forest Fire Brigade was established on November 18, 2002, and is responsible for comprehensive emergency rescue tasks such as regional forest and grassland fire fighting, emergency rescue and special disaster rescue.
In training, other teammates did 15 on single and double bars, Bai Licheng insisted on doing 20, and the five-kilometer training did not run to excellence, and he ran another one by himself. During the preparation for the competition, more than 10 obvious calluses on his hands were a testimony to the solid training of the post-85 firefighter. In October 2018, a fire broke out in a three-story wooden house in the station, and Bai Licheng's squadron received the police and went to deal with it. The situation was critical due to the storage of 2 gas tanks in the fire room that were not transported in time. The fire was raging and touched the hearts of everyone present at all times, but due to the lack of professional equipment, it was very dangerous for the team members to enter the room to extinguish the fire. At this moment, Bai Licheng made a clever move, let the team members break the glass of the room window and use the high-pressure pump to pounce, but he broke into the room alone to remove the trachea, successfully resolving the danger.

Forest fires are known as nature's destroyers. Since its establishment, every year from July 10 to October 10, when heavy snow closes the mountain, the Altay Forest Fire Brigade will send commanders and fighters to Kanas to carry out the forward garrison mission.
Due to the dry and hot summer, herders and tourists entering the mountains and forests are very easy to cause forest fires, especially this year's forest fire prevention situation is extremely severe, to a large extent will continue the historical high situation, forest fire prevention work is extremely important.
Diao Wei, commander of the third squadron of the Altay detachment of the Xinjiang Forest Fire Brigade, said that due to the living habits of local herders, they are often seen to make fires in the forest area for cooking, and the team members will immediately come forward to stop it. "The herders are all ethnic minority compatriots, the language is not spoken, it is very difficult to communicate, and sometimes there are some small misunderstandings." He said that most ethnic compatriots will show understanding and cooperation, and communication and ethnic relations handling skills are the pressure that team members need to bear.
In view of the increase in tourists in the scenic spot during the festival and the difficulty of fire control, the Altay Forest Fire Detachment invested more patrol forces to increase the patrol area, and increased the publicity of fire prevention. On October 1, 2019, the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Baihaba Garrison Detachment of the Xinjiang Forest Fire Brigade, as a professional forest fire prevention and extinguishing force stationed in the scenic spot, entered a state of combat readiness from September 20.
The team members of the fire prevention duty point start duty at 8 o'clock every morning, and can return to the garrison point at 9 o'clock in the evening, and the daily duty time in Kanas, which reaches an altitude of more than 1500 meters, lasts for more than 10 hours a day. In order to be able to transport supplies and rescue in time, the garrison detachment also has to ride horses in the forest area. Roads in forest areas are complex, and accidents can occur if you are not careful.
