If I say that it's not a human who smokes, drinks, or plays with women, it's a bear, can you believe it? However, the truth is that this bear not only really exists, but also a bear warrior who has been awarded a military rank, and once became a prominent figure in World War II
The origin of the bear warrior
In the Soviet army archives, there was a soldier named Woti, who had a formal troop establishment, received a salary, and the rank was corporal.
There's nothing strange about that, but if you know it's a bear, you can't calm down.
You may wonder, is this bear a avenger superhero? Or is it a biological weapon secretly cultivated by the Soviet Union? How else could it fight alongside the Allies?
In fact, Corporal Wotie is just an ordinary bear, but it has lived in the army since childhood, and has formed a deep friendship with the soldiers, so that he is willing to fight with everyone.
As for its combat qualities and hobbies of smoking, drinking, and playing with girls, they were cultivated in the course of acquired learning.
To talk about this bear warrior, we have to start from 1942. At that time, Poland was defeated by the German Blitzkrieg, and some soldiers had nowhere to go and became part of the Polish government-in-exile.
The Soviets brought together these exiled soldiers to form a secret force called the Anders Regiment, which was tasked with rushing to Iran to support the war-defying Allied forces.
The bear warrior Wo Tie joined the troops at the Iranian railway station. The soldiers of the 22nd Artillery Company were resting when a wandering Iranian boy approached with a bear cub. The bear was only the size of a paparazzi and was placed in a sackcloth pocket by the boy.
At first, the warriors thought that the boy had come to beg for food, but the little boy did not leave after getting the food, but wanted to entrust the bear to the warriors. The bear's mother was killed by hunters and became orphaned.
The little boy was unable to take care of the bear and followed the army to at least have a bite to eat. The warriors saw the little bear's silly look and liked it very much.
In fact, many of the warriors at that time were old boys of about twenty years old, which was also the age that they liked to play, so they gave the little boy some food, and after a Swiss Army knife, they left the bear.
Little Bear made his home in the 22nd Artillery Company, and its nest was a basin for the soldiers, and in order not to let the leaders find out, the soldiers had to cover the basin with a quilt.
In addition, the bears are still in the infant feeding stage, and the warriors can only mix condensed milk with water and pour it into vodka bottles as feeding bottles. After more than a month of this, the bear was still discovered by the commander.
Everyone was training that day, and a flock of birds woke up the sleeping bear, and the bear ran out of the tent and just bumped into the officer.
However, the chief did not blame everyone, because little bears, like them, are people who have lost their country and home. The commander agreed to continue to take in the bear and named the bear "Smiling Warrior", which translates to "Wotie" warrior in Polish.
Since then, Wotie has become the "company favorite" of the 22nd Artillery Company, mixing with the soldiers every day, and the commander of the artillery company, Cherminsky, knows the figure of the Wotie Warrior.
Later, when recalling The Voltiers, Cherminsky said with deep emotion: "The Voltaic can infect everyone, as long as it is around, everyone is full of power." ”
Chelminsky's remarks were not commercial touted, because the performance of the Woltir Bear on the battlefield conquered everyone.
One day in September 1943, a spy sneaked into the bathhouse of the 22nd Artillery Company, where it tried to steal some intelligence. Unexpectedly, before he could find a hiding place, a tall and mighty "bear warrior" appeared in front of his eyes. The next second the spy was thrown down by the bear warriors and then captured by the soldiers who heard the noise.
True warriors
Wotie the Bear became part of the 22nd Artillery Company, and for the next year it ate, lived and trained with the soldiers, and even wrestled with the soldiers.
A year later, the bear, which was only the size of a paparazzi, became a real "bear warrior".
However, at this time, the warriors also had some concerns in their hearts, Wo Tie grew up with humans, and usually would not attack humans, but no one could guarantee that Wo Tie would always be like this, in case one day it was beastly, it was also a potential danger.
At this time, due to the fame of Wotie, a British unit demanded a brown bear named Michael from the King of Iran and came to the 22nd Artillery Company to compete with Wotie.
Michael is a very brutal adult brown bear, he has been cultivated as a fighting beast since childhood, and has experienced countless battles, large and small.
As soon as Michael saw Wo tie, he was fierce, broke free of the chains, and wrestled with Wo Tie. Although Wo Tie is younger in age, it is not a vegetarian, and usually trains with soldiers, and its physical fitness and reflexes are very good.
And in the wrestling with the warriors, I also learned a lot of skills, so I did not fall behind in the battle with Michael.
However, Wotie itself has a major disadvantage, that is, ferocity. Wo Tie grew up in the army, never killed animals, never killed people, and did not even have hunting experience.
Michael, on the other hand, was in the Colosseum, where it shredded dozens of opponents and was already accustomed to life and death. Therefore, in the initial battle, Wo tie's body and face were scratched and bitten by Michael, and the blood flowed.
This was the first time that Wotie had encountered such a fierce battle, and the blood and pain in his body aroused Wotie's bestiality, and it knew that it was a life-and-death battle, so it also began to show its sharp claws and teeth and fight with Michael.
Soon the battle was won and lost, michael was defeated, and his throat was almost torn by Wo Tie. The warriors rejoiced at Wotie's victory, but at the same time fell into deep apprehension that they could not imagine that the little bear, who had been fed by his own milk, could have such a wild side.
For the next ten days, no one knew how to get along with Wotie, and even when they were in the shower, they were not with him.
On the 22nd day after the fight, Wo Tie sneaks into the bathhouse to take a shower, only to see a sneaky stranger. Wotie knew that this man must have bad intentions, so he threw him to the ground and howled to inform the warriors.
Soon the warriors arrived to arrest the stranger, who turned out to be an enemy spy. During the interrogation, the warriors obtained a large amount of enemy intelligence and used this information to fight a beautiful ambush, and the biggest contributor to the victory of this battle was Wo Tie.
At this time, everyone finally untied the knot, and when Wo Tie faced the strange spy, he just pressed it under his body, how could he kill his intimate partners.
So everyone re-accepted Wo Tie and taught Wo Tie the skill of smoking and drinking. Once, when moving the battlefield in a truck, Wo Tie suddenly saw several beautiful women playing on the seashore, and he ignored the high-speed truck and directly jumped out of the car and ran towards the beautiful women.
The beauties were frightened, but fortunately WoTie did not hurt them, and finally took a group photo with the warriors and Wotie.
Bear warriors on the battlefield
The bear warrior Wo Tie developed a hobby of smoking and drinking in the barracks, but these hobbies were not normal in the years when the World War broke out, and the battlefield was the most familiar place for Wo Tie.
In 1944, the most critical year of World War II, the European battlefield was full of tanks and warplanes roaring, and the 22nd Artillery Battalion was ordered to the Italian front to participate in the key battle to liberate Italy, the Battle of Monte Cassino.
However, at the time of boarding, the British army did not allow The Volta to board the ship, and stopped it with the stipulation that "only soldiers and cargo are allowed to board the ship".
At this time, commander Cherminsky gave the order on the spot to appoint the bear warrior Wotie as a second class and join the battle sequence of the 22nd Artillery Company.
This domineering and willful move made the British soldiers stunned, and they could only watch the bear warriors board the warship. They don't know that Wotie is not an empty pet, but a real warrior.
Like its warriors, it charged the battlefield and crouched in the trenches. And it also learned all the skills of the front-line transporters, where someone needed a shell, it always delivered the shell as fast as possible. Others can only deliver one box of shells at a time, while bear warriors with strange powers can deliver four boxes at a time.
Most importantly, the bear warrior Wo Tie is not afraid of the explosion of shells, nor is he afraid of the rain of bullets.
Perhaps it is this kind of strength that is not afraid of death, all the bullets go around the Wo Tie, it has participated in countless battles, and it has not been seriously injured once.
The warriors believed that Wotie must have been blessed by The Goddess of Luck, so they printed a photo with the Wotie motif on the truck, believing that with the Wotie, they were carrying the Goddess of Luck.
And as long as the soldiers received the shells sent by Wo Tie himself, their morale would also be high. Later, the 22nd Artillery Company was reorganized into a transport company, and their badge LOGO was wo tie bear warrior.
According to statistics, on the battlefield of Cassino in Italy alone, Wottier led everyone to transport 17,300 tons of ammunition, 1,100 tons of food and 1,200 tons of fuel, laying a solid foundation for the victory of the war.
After the battle, Wotie was promoted to the rank of corporal for his meritorious service.
At the end of the Second World War in 1945, the Wwatie and 22 transport companies went to Scotland to garrison.
In the years when there was no war, Wo Tie resumed the life of smoking and drinking, mingling with beautiful women and children, enjoying the cigarettes and wine sent by everyone, and living happily. Later, the Polish government was restored, and the soldiers were finally able to go home, but Wotte did not follow the soldiers to Poland.
It has long since lost its home, and now it's so comfortable in Edinburgh's zoo that it doesn't want to toss it anymore.
The soldiers did not force it, but they would often come to the zoo to see Wotie, and they would sit next to Wotie as they had in the barracks.
Wo tie's life ended in 1963 at the age of 22, which is already a long life for a bear. In November 2011, poles erected statues of Wotte to commemorate Wotte's great contribution to the victory over fascism.
