In the past, due to poor infrastructure conditions, Shangping Village restricted the development of villagers for a long time. With the continuous deepening of poverty alleviation, in recent years, the infrastructure conditions such as village housing, transportation and water conservancy have been greatly improved, bringing new hope to industrial development.
"This plum garden has gone through many ups and downs, and it was almost cut twice." Chen Long introduced that although he is a local, he has been working outside the country in the past and has never been involved in the agricultural industry. In recent years, the development of the local fruit industry is in full swing, and his family and many friends around him are growing fruits, and the benefits are very good, so he also made a living the idea of developing a characteristic fruit industry.
In 2016, by chance, Chen Long transferred 130 acres of plums, established the Dejiang Zhangxian Fairy Fruit and Vegetable Planting Professional Cooperative, and began to engage in the fruit industry.
But the truth was not as simple as Chen Long thought. In 2018, the plum ushered in the first hanging fruit, but the plum produced was not satisfactory, and the people who came to try it generally believed that the plum was insufficient in moisture and the taste was not good, which made Chen Long, who was full of confidence, play a retreat, feeling that this soil was not suitable for planting plums, and the equipment was cut off for other fruits.
The idea of cutting off the plum was opposed by his wife Wen Meiqin, who felt that there should be a mistake in what link, and the couple discussed asking experts to come and see, and after a comprehensive assessment, the experts believed that the poor taste of plums should appear in management. "We want to be simple, when to fertilize, when to prune are clear norms." Chen Long said.
After that, Chen Long also carefully studied planting techniques and management methods, and fruit trees grew rapidly. In the first two years, some fruit trees have hanging fruit, although the yield is not high, but the quality is very good, favored by the market.
After several years of painstaking management, today, Chen Long's plum industry has achieved obvious results. "Last year, due to the influence of the season, only more than 20,000 catties were harvested, but because of the good taste, it sold more than 70,000 yuan, in addition to labor fees of more than 20,000 yuan, but also earned 50,000 yuan, although the start was late, but finally saw hope." Chen Long said.
Not only that, but the nearby villagers also benefited. "Hoeing, fertilizing, pruning, picking... The park drives 5 or 6 villagers to work all year round. Chen Long introduced that every year to the peak period of management and protection and fruit picking, more labor is needed, and more than 300,000 yuan has been invested so far.
Plant plum trees and get rich. In recent years, Gonghe Town in the poverty alleviation and rural revitalization, relying on a good ecological environment, to encourage farmers to independently develop industries, not only revitalized idle land resources, but also solved the rural surplus labor employment, become another channel for villagers to continue to increase income, Chen Long's 130 acres of plum income increase is only a microcosm of Gonghe Town to inject strong impetus into the prosperity of the rural revitalization industry.
