It's a completely separate topic, similar to art. Here, shoe repair, especially in the eastern part of the Republic, is a fairly serious profession.
Thus, for example, in Andijan, there are craftsmen throughout the streets who do nothing but fix shoes. In addition, the masters sat on the street—without any tents, kiosks, let alone offices.
The guys, the local shoemakers, put their machines on the sidewalk and sat on stools – that's it, the shoe store was ready!
The most interesting thing is that their services are needed here. When I take pictures of shoemakers, people turn positively to them – who should have their soles repaired, who should change their heels, who should sew their shoes buttons.
Their service is very cheap.
To repair the heel, the Uzbetsu restrained shoemaker charges 4,000-5,000 sum - about 25 rubles. It may not seem enough, but in Uzbekistan with this money you can buy two meat and hot tea samsas.
So, fixing shoes in Uzbekistan is a big deal!
