Erdene. Choekyi Gyaltsen is the tenth Panchen Lama of Tibetan Buddhism, the title of living Buddha among Tibetan Buddhas, and an honorific title for a highly accomplished monk in Buddhism. It has a lofty position among the followers of Buddhism.
Born in 1938 to a Tibetan farming family in Qinghai, Choekyi Gyaltsen is considered the reincarnation of the Ninth Panchen Lama in 1941. In June 1949, he was approved by the then Nationalist government as the 10th Panchen Lama.
Three months after the liberation of Qinghai, the 12-year-old Panchen Lama immediately sent someone to contact the CCP and expressed his willingness to promote the peaceful liberation of Tibet and fully support the reunification of the motherland. Since then, he has always adhered to the political proposition of patriotism and love of religion, and has been running for various undertakings in Tibetan areas.
In 1961, the Panchen Lama accompanied a state-organized delegation to all parts of the country. After the inspection, he wrote a report of 70,000 words on his observations and thoughts along the way and submitted it to the Central Committee, but unexpectedly, he attracted severe criticism and was labeled with three big black hats of "anti-people, anti-socialist, and treasonous elements."
In 1978, the central government organized representatives of various democratic groups to tour the new changes in the mountains and rivers of the motherland. During the two-month tour, the Panchen Lama underwent a lot of changes in his heart, and in addition to feeling the fresh political air, he also gushed out more worldly feelings. He knew that this was inseparable from the unforgettable experience of the Cultural Revolution.
Most of the people in the group were elderly people with white heads and pale faces, and the Panchen Lama was the youngest of them. The young people were more likely to come together, and during this period, he formed a friendship with the guards of Dong Qiwu, the deputy leader of the team.
Along the way, the Panchen Lama was sensing the changes in society and examining the emotional fluctuations that were occurring in his own heart.
In his heart, a thought of getting married and starting a family gradually became clear. Soon, he shared this idea with his friend and frankly asked the guard to find a partner for him.
Of course, it is most convenient to find a girlfriend through female introduction, and the guard quickly asked a well-known female medical warrior, her name is Li Jie, 19 years old, and she is the granddaughter of the chief Dong Qiwu.
Dong Qiwu is a founding general of the mainland, and Li Jie is his most beloved granddaughter. Li Jie has been very eager for the profession of angel in white since she was a child, so as soon as she graduated from high school, she entered her grandfather's 69th Army as a medical soldier. But the yin and yang were wrong, because the guard did not explain that it was the red lady who came to meet, when Li Jie pulled his fifth aunt to see the Panchen, he was mistaken by the Panchen Lama for Li Jie's girlfriend who came to meet him. Seeing Li Jie's tall and short figure and Qingxiu's big eyes, panchen instantly moved his heart.
The Panchen Lama is not a kind of euphemistic and hesitant character, but very frank and spontaneous. He directly expressed his love to Li Jie, and at the same time frankly revealed his "shortcomings", first, he did not have any property; Second, the historical problem has not been completely rehabilitated; Third, if you are with yourself, you need to be mentally prepared to be monitored together.
The character who originally thought it was mysterious did not expect to be so frank and transparent. To be able to walk with a frank person gives you a minimum sense of security. Li Jie didn't even move her mind to help the little sister introduce herself, she wanted to look everywhere herself first.
There was soon a bud of love between the two, and after feeling this change, Li Jie's family clearly expressed their opposition.
At that time, in the conditions of dealing with the object, the labels of soldiers and college students were the hottest, and Li Jie accounted for them. The family will not let an ordinary person pick up the cheap.
Of course, the Panchen Lama was not an ordinary person, but his status was very high, but his age was obviously older, and he was close to 40 years old at the time; Secondly, his three black hats had not yet been completely removed, and he was a truly revolutionary family, and the political division was very significant at that time. Therefore, Dong Qiwu, who loves his granddaughter the most, does not approve of their interaction at all.
However, emotions are from the heart, age and political identity have not blocked the spark of love after all, and the opposition of Li Jie's family has gradually been melted by the true feelings of the two.
But even if this love is the red bride herself to lead the rope, it still can't avoid obstacles and setbacks. Because of the special status of the Panchen Lama, the two even received criticism from the religious circles. Many people believe that religious believers should not get married. Moreover, he is still such a religious leader.
However, the Panchen Lama was mentally prepared for some people to think so. He knew it was due to the lack of understanding of Tibetan Buddhism. Although the previous Panchen Lamas had never been married, it did not mean that there was such a rule in the canon that they could not be married. In Tibetan areas, many living Buddhas are married, which is not an uncommon phenomenon.
The Panchen Lama could get married, but after marriage he could no longer wear robes, but only luxurious Tibetan robes. The Panchen Lama and Li Jie eventually became united, and he always adhered to the Gelug rules and never wore a robe again.
When they were married, the marriage was witnessed by the living Buddha, Charles Nebu, and the participants included Li Xiannian, Zhang Aiping, Yang Dezhi, Ngapoi Ngawang Jigme, and Zhao Puchu.
After marriage, panchen cherished Li Jie even more and was reluctant to let her suffer a little grievance. On major religious occasions, he never hid the fact that he was married, but took the initiative to introduce Li Jie to everyone.
Although he was busy with business, often working until late at night, he would still be busy sneaking around and taking time out to spend time with his wife.
Li Jie, a military doctor by birth, not only carefully takes care of the Panchen Lama in life, but also serves as his personal secretary, silently helping her husband to take care of various complicated affairs.
The Panchen Lama "bent on enabling the Tibetan people to live a good life", and Li Jiezhen can be said to have helped each other with all his strength in initiating the establishment of the Tibet Development Foundation later.
The Panchen Lama often lamented that Li Jie was the best gift given to him by the Buddha, and Li Jie smiled and said, "I was sent by the Buddha to test you." ”
In 1983, Panchen's daughter was born, and her full name was Yao xi. Class. Renji Wang. Renji spent only more than five years with her father, the Panchen Lama, but her father's love for her was unforgettable.
In January 1989, the Panchen Lama died of a sudden myocardial infarction in Shigatse due to overwork.
In 1991, Renji attended elementary school in Beijing and was the class leader. Because of her long Tibetan name and the daughter of the Panchen Lama, her classmates kept calling him class leader, even the teacher.
After graduating from elementary school, 13-year-old Renji went to the United States to study. Lived in the home of the fifth aunt who also went to the United States to start a business. Her school was near the Slums of Brooklyn, where Renji witnessed many blacks fighting, stealing, and taking drugs because of poverty, in stark contrast to her peaceful and peaceful life in the country.
Not only that, in school, she also saw some crazy girls many times, threatening and beating each other with knives. Of course, Renji is not a cowardly child, although these phenomena make her nervous, but she does not want to tell these to her mother, she believes that one day she will be able to solve and integrate into it.
But after a long time, Li Jie still slowly learned that she would never let Renji live in such an unsafe environment. Half a year later, Renji was transferred to a private school in Los Angeles, which was also a true aristocratic school.

Renji studied very hard, leaving the library late at night, and she was often the last one. She asked herself to participate in as many social activities as possible to increase her life experience. Renji kept reaching out and raising his arms to wear hada for them, repeating the same action thousands of times a day. Every day down, her arm was so swollen that she could barely lift it.
In those days, the Hada store in Lhasa was selling crazy, and the staff around her joked that the next time she went there, she told them early that opening a Hatta store temporarily would definitely make a lot of money.
When they go to a temple, Tibetans, whether they live far away or nearby, wait in line early. The people in line circled around the temple several times, and the line behind them stretched for dozens of miles, just waiting to worship her.
Renji's heart is full of warmth and love. She wants to use her life to give back this love and use practical actions to realize the dream of striving for national unity and benefiting the people in Tibetan areas.
