In 2016, the Mangcheng Municipal People's Bureau and the People's Government of Chafang Town led the villagers of Mangli Village to plant wood milk fruits in the idle open space behind the houses in front of the houses to develop a "courtyard economy". In recent years, relying on the Agricultural Extension Service Center and scientific and technological talents from all walks of life, the Mangshi Science and Technology Association has guided the villagers of Mangli Village to scientifically manage the wood milk fruit, and during the critical period of "wood milk fruit" fruit hanging, invited Shi Hong, a national researcher and professor of Dehong Normal College with rich planting research technology, to carry out technical management training for fruit preservation and fruit preservation, and improve the fruit hanging rate and the quality of the fruit. In 2021, the "courtyard economy" of wood milk fruit began to take shape, driving villagers to increase their income by more than 100,000 yuan, effectively expanding the channels for villagers to get rich and increase income.
In 2022, the scientific planting and quality improvement of the wood milk fruit met the gradual development of rural tourism, so that this wonderful fruit that was once grown in the east and the west entered the public vision and bloomed the brilliance of "burning love fruit", and many tourists came from more than 100 kilometers away to feel the joy of picking wood milk fruit on the spot.
"Our village now has more than 400 acres of munay fruit planting area, put into production about 100 acres, this year's fruit is good and beautiful, coupled with the development of rural tourism, now the fruit is not worried about selling, it is expected that this year's sale of fruit can achieve income of about three or four hundred thousand yuan, which has enhanced the economic income of our village." Yue Erxiangbao, secretary of the party branch of the Mangli villagers group, said.
"After grafting and scientific management, the sweetness of wood milk fruit has been greatly improved, the quality is better, and now the wood milk fruit is mainly fresh food, local market sales, large-scale planting mode, fresh fruit preservation technology, wood milk fruit product development and export channels are still being explored," said Yue Yan, director of the science popularization unit of the Mangshi Science and Technology Association.
