Win-win! Rockets, Magic brewing 3-for-1 trades, Jaylen Green, Sargus paired up in the backcourt?

According to NBA star Michael Scotto, if the Rockets and Porter Jr. reach an early contract extension, then this contract must be very beneficial to the Rockets. If Porter Jr. becomes a restricted free agent next summer, the Rockets could offer him $8.5 million in qualifying, and general manager Stone is unlikely to offer more than that. Porter Jr. was previously abandoned by the Cavaliers because of the big trouble in the dressing room, and it was the Rockets who gave him a second chance, but he did not take it as a warning in Houston, which made the top management of each team reluctant to provide him with a long-term contract, so Porter Jr.'s best choice was to complete the contract extension with the Rockets in advance. But negotiations between the two sides have reached an impasse, largely due to the huge gap in annual salaries (Porter Jr. hopes to get a multi-year contract with an annual salary of $20 million).

According to Houston Chronicle reporter Jonathan Fagan, if Porter Jr. still insists on asking for a high salary, causing his relationship with Rockets management to deteriorate, general manager Stone may choose to send him away early through a deal before the start of the new season. Fagan's suggestion was that the Rockets used Porter Jr. as the main body to quote sargs, the Magic's depressed 2021 No. 5 roster, which was a 3-for-1 deal offer: The Rockets sent Kevin Potter Jr. + Trey Burke + 2023 first-round pick (Bucks) to get the Magic's Jaylen Sagas.

Saggers is 1.96 meters tall, has an arm span of 1.96 meters, weighs 95 kilograms, plays as a defender on the court, and has averaged 27.2 minutes per game this season, contributing 11.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.2 steals, shooting only 36.1% from the field. Sargas has a wide passing horizon and is often able to deliver accurate long passes throughout the game. In addition, he is good at aerial work, often able to make a variety of difficult layup moves in the game, and with his super explosive power, he can often step past the defender in charge of guarding. Although the arm span is not prominent, with his tough personality and strong playing style, he has a strong presence on the defensive end.

Sargas was Jaylen Green's rookie of the year and a favourite to be a draft pick that year, and their relationship was quite close, which helped to build chemistry between them. Sargas is more physically gifted than Porter Jr., has a stronger ability to organize tandems, and performs better on the defensive end. In short, he and Jaylen Green are more compatible and have greater potential for development. The Magic already have two excellent point guards, Joel Anthony and Fultz, and Porter Jr.'s dual-guard attributes buy him more playing time, and his attacking and shooting abilities are better than Sargs. In addition to this, Porter Jr. has only one year left on his rookie contract, and magic management can choose whether to renew his contract next summer based on his on-court performance. If Porter Jr. doesn't play as expected, magic management can choose to give up on him without causing too much damage, and a valuable first-round pick could help the Magic speed up the process of rebuilding.
