With two improvements, bug fixes and minor changes, ICOM releases new IC-9700 firmware "Version 1.32"
On August 5, 2022, ICOM released the new firmware "Version 1.32" of the 144/430/1200MHz full-mode machine "IC-9700" on its website. According to the company's announcement, the change in version 1.31 is: "In satellite mode tracking operations, the amount of frequency change in the main and sub-bands is sometimes different. "Even if you can't turn it off, you can now force reset everything by holding down [PBT] and [V/M] while connecting to an external power source." In addition, 4 minor changes were announced.
The new IC-9700 firmware will be released starting July 9, 2021 from version 1.31. The new firmware content announced this time is as follows:
New IC-9700 Firmware (Version 1.32)
Changes compared to version 1.31:
Improved satellite mode tracking of points with different frequency variations between the main and sub-bands in the operation.
- Pressing [PBT] and [V/M] when connecting an external power supply will force a full reset even if the [POWER] key cannot be turned on/off.
Fixed an issue where a shutdown was stuck in rare cases.
Other minor changes
The firmware of the IC-9700 can be updated using an SD card (see instruction manual). After rewriting the firmware, the version information number is displayed as follows:
Primary CPU: 1.32
Sub CPU: 1.00
Front CPU: 1.00
FPGA program: 1.07
FPGA data: 1.00
Digital Signal Processor: 1.06
