04 Painful loss of a beloved son
At the beginning, Wang Lihong was not used to eating and living in Uganda. But over time, Wang Lihong overcame many obstacles, gradually adapted to life here, and gave birth to 4 children for Suma in succession.
However, the environment in Uganda is very harsh, and people are prone to various diseases. In addition, the medical conditions here are very backward, most diseases cannot be cured, and many people fall ill and die.
Wang Lihong could not have imagined that misfortune would come to her child's head.
In 2008, Wang Lihong's 1-year-old young son accidentally contracted malaria and his life was in danger.
Malaria is not an incurable disease, but in backward Uganda, having the disease is equivalent to having a terminal illness. Even if Wang Lihong and his wife ran all over the major hospitals, they could not save the life of their youngest son.
The death of her youngest son was a fatal blow to Wang Lihong, who lived in self-blame and regret every day, and even regretted the decision to come to Uganda.
The pain of losing her son made Wang Lihong feel pain. In order to avoid similar tragedies, she decided to devote herself to education in Uganda and change the face of poverty and backwardness here.
After Wang Lihong told Suma about this, she had the support of her husband, and as long as her wife came out of her grief, Suma was willing to do anything for her.
In 2010, Wang Lihong and Suma bought a school on the verge of bankruptcy in Uganda at their own expense, and after some renovation, named it "Luyangzi Middle School", Wang Lihong became the principal of the school, teaching Chinese and scientific culture to local women and children.
In the days that followed, Wang Lihong devoted herself to education and spread cultural knowledge to local residents. At the beginning of the school, there were many parents who were reluctant to let their children come to school, preferring to let their children go to the farm.
Wang Lihong went door-to-door to persuade the villagers to tell the villagers the truth of knowing how to change their destiny. Gradually, more and more children came to "Luyangzi Middle School". It is also the children of some rich countries who come to visit.
The school has grown from a few dozen to a few thousand people, and has cultivated a large number of talents for the society every year, which has had a positive impact on uganda's development.
It has been 25 years since Wang Lihong left the motherland, but she has never forgotten that she is a Chinese! She cooks Chinese food for the children here, tells them every history of China...
