Shenyang police remind the public that all sales and purchases of wild plants under national key protection need to apply for relevant permits, and any sale and cultivation without a license is illegal. Citizens should not blindly pursue curiosities to buy some national key protected plants, which will bring unnecessary trouble to themselves while destroying rare species.

On June 23 this year, the Xingshun police station of the Tiexi substation received a report from the masses that someone was suspected of illegally selling plants under national key protection. After receiving the alarm, the Tiexi Sub-bureau immediately organized the police force to carry out the investigation of the case, according to the information provided by the informant, the police arrested Zhou X (female, 50 years old) and Hu X (female, 48 years old) on July 18, and seized 20 suspected nationally protected plants on the spot.
The police handling the case sent the 20 plants seized to the relevant authoritative departments for appraisal, and confirmed that the seized plants were all shishan cycads, a wild plant under national key protection. According to reports, Shishan cycad is a cycad genus of cycads, which is the oldest extant seed plant.

Chen Jinglong told reporters that after the criminal suspects Zhou xxx and Hu xxx were caught, they confessed to the police the criminal facts of illegally selling plants under national key protection. At the same time, they confessed to the police that they had previously sold a number of Shishan cycads at unit prices ranging from 200 yuan to 500 yuan. At present, Zhou X and Hu X are suspected of "illegally selling plants under national key protection" and have been taken compulsory measures by the police in accordance with the law.

It is understood that article 344 of the Criminal Law, "Crimes of Endangering Plants under Key National Protection", clearly states that whoever, in violation of state regulations, illegally harvests or destroys precious trees or other plants under key national protection, or illegally acquires, transports, processes or sells precious trees or other plants under key national protection and their products, shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years, criminal detention or public surveillance, and shall also be fined; If the circumstances are serious, he shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than three years but not more than seven years and shall also be fined.

The newly adjusted List includes a total of 455 species and 40 categories of wild plants under national key protection, including 54 species and 4 categories of wild plants protected at the national level and 401 species and 36 categories of wild plants under national second-level protection. Diplodont orchid: In August 2021, Liaoning Province discovered the original orchid family that is unique to the mainland and has been extinct for more than 20 years- the diplodont orchid. It is known as the "living fossil of orchid family" and the "giant panda" of liaoning plant kingdom. Because it is indeed too small in number, only the Old Bald Sub National Nature Reserve in the world has it.

Wild Ginkgo Biloba: Why are the ginkgo trees on the streets a nationally protected plant, or an endangered species? This is mainly due to the fact that there are very few wild ginkgo trees, belonging to the relict plants, and there are almost no plants in the same family as it. At present, the common ginkgo trees on the street are planted in large quantities through asexual reproduction through scientific means.
