Starting next week, the Evolution of Life series will be launched! However, before introducing this series of courses, please allow me to introduce the "Science Open Class" to the new friends.

Good fellow, fish are actually the ancestors of people? The "Open Class of Science" life evolution series is about to start

"Open Science Class" is a series of programs created by the Science Communication Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Department of Basic Education of the Ministry of Education. The first season has been broadcast on January 25 this year, and 10 big coffee scientists have provided interesting popular science content for everyone.

This season (season 2) has been broadcast on all major platforms every Wednesday to Saturday from 8 pm from July 20th!

In addition to the above-mentioned cooperative media, you can also watch the live broadcast and playback of "Science Open Class" (Season 2) at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the National Astronomical Observatory, the Institute of High Energy of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Divine Calculation, the Institute of Geology and Earth science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, our space station, DeepTech and other accounts, as well as platforms such as Science Popularization China, Today's Headlines, Watermelon Video, DingTalk, Scientific Research Cloud, and Huayang Search.

In addition, the China Science Expo also has an "open class area", which can continue to be watched after the live broadcast.

Dissemination of scientific ideas · Cultivate scientific interest

Adhering to the spirit of "disseminating scientific ideas and cultivating scientific interest", "Science Open Class" is a set of online science popularization courses for teenagers to focus on creating during the winter and summer vacations under the background of "double reduction" by the Bureau of Science Communication of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Department of Basic Education of the Ministry of Education, starting from the extracurricular education of primary and secondary schools, in order to meet the popular science needs of primary and secondary school students and cultivate students' comprehensive quality.

In a way that primary and secondary school students can understand and are willing to listen, the curriculum popularizes basic scientific knowledge, disseminates scientific ideas, and cultivates curiosity. As a useful supplement to the school-based teaching system, it aims to stimulate scientific interest, carry forward the spirit of science, and improve the quality of science. At the same time, we strive to provide more teaching materials for primary and secondary school science teachers and serve the whole process of science education.

Four Course Series · Big coffee gives lectures

The second season of the Open Science Class invited more big names in the scientific community, and the subject matter of the course covered a wider range of aspects. The course is divided into four series: exploring the universe, the evolution of life, the microscopic mechanism of matter, and mathematics and computing technology, and the teachers' explanations are simple and simple, and the content is wonderful.

What is the Evolution of Life course series about?

Okay, let's talk in detail about what to see in the life evolution course coming soon in the next two weeks.

1 Pterodactyl flying into the blue sky /Chinese Pterosaur fossil

Speaker: Wang Xiaolin

Researcher, Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Broadcast time: August 3, 20:00

Broadcast time: August 4, 20:00

Course Description:

The Mesozoic Era was the age of dinosaurs, the age of reptiles. Among the many reptiles, there is a special existence, although it is named "reptile", it is the ruler of the sky, which is the protagonist of this course - pterosaurs. In Mr. Wang's two lessons, we will learn more about the interesting stories related to pterosaurs.

2 Journey from fish to human life

Speaker: Wang Yuan

Researcher, Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Broadcast time: August 5 at 20:00

Broadcast time: August 6 at 20:00

Course Description:

Where did humans come from? This is a problem that has plagued human beings since the very beginning of their birth. Finally, modern science can answer this question, that man evolved from fish. This long evolutionary path spans 520 million years, with many key turning points in between. Teacher Wang will lead everyone through two lessons to re-walk the evolutionary road from fish to man.

3 Origin and migration of modern humans

Speaker: Ma Runlin

Research Fellow, Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Broadcast time: August 10, 20:00

Course Description:

In the previous course, we completed the evolutionary path from fish to man spanning 520 million years, ushering in the dawn of mankind. In this course, we focus on the last "moment" of time – 200,000 years after the emergence of modern humans. Mr. Ma will introduce the origins of modern humans from migration, answering the question "Where do we come from" on a specific level of East Asian populations.

4 The Story of Human-Friendly Microbes

Speaker: Yang Haihua

Researcher, Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Broadcast time: August 11, 20:00

Course Description:

Earth is the cradle of life, and humans have been on the planet for more than 2 million years, while microbes have been around for at least 3.8 billion years. In the long process of evolution, what kind of story is hidden in the delicate coexistence relationship between humans and microorganisms? And listen to Teacher Yang telling you.

5 Hoofed rabbit non-rabbit Elephant shrew non-shrew
