Women are highly respected in Tuareg society, who are of high social status, knowledgeable, able to participate in public activities and own all family property; They never do housework or go out to earn money.

Poor Tuareg men, however, were illiterate and spent most of their time grazing and laboring. Their only dignity is their veil. For the Tuareg men, the person who lifts their veil means death, because the act is an insult to them. Even if they die in battle, the collectors will cover them with a veil and move their bodies.

The most incomprehensible thing is that in the Tuareg tribe, men are like shy girls, while women are more macho. For example: there is freedom to spend countless wonderful nights with as many male partners as possible before a woman gets married. Because this is the traditional Oni, this is a sacred custom that respects the Tuareg people.

So, if you go to the Tuareg tribe and see a young man riding a camel through the side door into the tent of an unmarried woman in the middle of the night, while his trained camel waits outside the tent. Not surprising, because the man would disappear in the same way before dawn, while the girl's family would pretend not to know anything.

Similarly, if the girl invited another man the next night, you should not be surprised, because no one in the Tuareg tribe would care about these, and the girl enjoyed the same freedom as the boy.

For Tuareg men, even if they are married, they do not lose their privilege. Because the animals and the tent always belong to the wife.

For Tuareg men, after divorce, due to customs and prenuptial agreements, the man may only be able to take the premarital mount camel and return to the mother in humiliation, while the divorced woman's parents will throw parties for their daughters to celebrate her regaining her freedom.

The saddest thing is that Tuareg's husband has no ownership of his own children, because, as the Tuaregs know, only the mother can determine the parents. Fathers, on the other hand, were always insecure.

In short, the tribe's bloodline was handled in the opposite way to Europe, so it often happened that men bequeathed all their possessions to their sister's children instead of their own. As a result, the inheritance will remain one hundred percent in the family.

Nevertheless, Tuareg men have a decisive say in politics, while women are not allowed to participate. But even so, women try to pull strings behind the scenes, and indecisive men often go to wives or mothers for advice.

However, while the tribal culture of the Tuaregs has a clear cohesiveness, their unique culture is threatened. The vast majority of the tribes have now converted to Islam, and although they still retain their customs to this day, a growing number of voices among them claim that the Tuareg traditions are outdated and backward.

Now, these changes in the Tuaregs have become apparent. The men's faces were always covered. Since ancient times, women's faces have been considered beautiful and something worth showing. But now, the number of women wearing burqas is increasing. According to them, it's just a fad.
