Since August 2021, 52-year-old Zhang Gaiyuan has contracted 12 greenhouses in the park to grow celery and tomatoes. "When I have time, I go to a technician for advice, I feel like a college student." Zhang Gaiyuan introduced that in the past year, he has learned how to make fermented organic fertilizer with soybean meal, mastered the pollination skills of bumblebees, and learned scientific planting techniques that save water and fertilizer.
In order to build a multi-functional and integrated agricultural science and technology demonstration base that integrates demonstration display, training guidance, and popular science education, Wang Wu Modern Facility Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park introduced experts from the College of Horticulture of Shanxi Agricultural University and signed an industry-university-research cooperation agreement; Introduce new varieties such as "Jingyan Xiamei" cucumber and "Aoguan No. 6" tomato, and demonstrate and promote new technologies such as soil improvement and restoration.
Among them, the demonstration and promotion of technologies and methods such as soil improvement and facility tomato production management have solved the production problems that have plagued local farmers for many years, and the yield and quality of agricultural products have been significantly improved. The strawberry matrix seedling nursery base is a renovation and expansion project launched by the park in March this year, and several master's students from Shanxi Agricultural University have brought the agricultural technology and modern production management methods they have learned to the park. At present, the base has an annual output of 1 million high-quality strawberry seedlings, which are sold to and outside the province at different times.

Up to now, 20,000 mu of greenhouses have been built in Xiaodian District, more than 40 agricultural product processing enterprises have been developed, and more than 20 leisure agricultural parks above designated size have been built.
