nightingale
"Nightingale" is the only fairy tale by Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen set in China.
The work tells a story that takes place in China: the beautiful singing of the nightingale impresses the emperor, and it becomes the emperor's favorite. But soon after, a man-made bird with a beautiful sound and a gorgeous appearance received more praise, so the nightingale flew away. However, when the emperor's life is threatened by death, the artificial bird cannot sing a single note, or the real nightingale drives away the haze of death with a gentle song.
In ancient China, the emperor's garden lived a nightingale, and its song was very beautiful, bringing joy and comfort to busy fishermen and poor girls. But neither the emperor nor his courtiers knew that there was such a bird in his own country, and it was not until the foreigner's book said that he found it with great difficulty.

Although this was an ordinary gray bird that was not beautiful, its song also touched the emperor's heartstrings, causing him to shed tears.

At this time, the Emperor of Japan sent a nightingale, which is a man-made craft, full of diamonds, carnelian and jasper, exactly like the real nightingale, as long as the clockwork is good, it will sing the song sung by the real nightingale. When the people of the palace were tirelessly lured dozens of times to listen to the singing of this "high royal night singer", the true nightingale quietly flew back into the verdant woods.

Unfortunately, a year later, the artificial nightingale can sing the tune, and the people who listen to it can even recite it; Subsequently, the clockwork inside its body was also broken, barely repaired, and it could only be sung once a year.

It was at this time that the little nightingale's song came from outside the window, and it had come specifically at this very moment to sing a song of consolation and hope to the emperor.

Sure enough, with its singing, "the blood in the emperor's weak limbs began to flow faster", so that he finally recovered his strength and became conscious. The Grim Reaper who had been waiting beside him turned into a cold white mist and disappeared from the window.

Appreciation: The protagonist of "Nightingale" is a nightingale that grows in the garden of the native sea, not from abroad, it is indeed the "most beautiful thing in all things" in the empire, but it was not known to the people in the court at that time, on the contrary, the artificial nightingale was regarded as a "high royal night singer", although even the country that gave this artificial nightingale also knew its own nightingale, "compared to the Chinese emperor's nightingale, it is very shabby", and the connoisseurs also saw: "It always seems to lack something". This is because those who are obsessed with the outside will always be confused by foreign things and will not recognize the value of their true nightingale. It was not until the end, when the Emperor was dying, the alien Nightingale had nothing to do, and his own Nightingale, with its song, to take back his life from the Grim Reaper, that the Emperor realized that it was a "sacred bird!" I understand you now." The nightingale from the forest did not ask the emperor for any reward, and its kind heart even prevented the emperor from "tearing the artificial nightingale into a thousand pieces." Its only hope is to return it to nature and sing for all who need it, including the emperor.
