The historical Qiuchi State mainly refers to the former Qiuchi State established by Yang Maosu and the later Qiuchi State rebuilt by Yang Ding. In 371 AD, Qiuchi became a stumbling block for former Qin Emperor Jianjian to unify the north, and the Qin army attacked Qiuchi and moved the Qi people to the Guanzhong area, and the former Qiuchi state was destroyed. In the nineteenth year of Former Qin Jianyuan (383), Former Qin was defeated at the Battle of Shuishui and Former Qin collapsed. Subsequently, Yang Ding, who followed Jian Jian, took the opportunity to return to Longyou, claiming to be the general of Long Jun and the Duke of Qiuchi, and declared himself a vassal to the Eastern Jin Dynasty. The Qiuchi regime restored by Yang Ding was known as the Later Qiuchi State. Yang Ding was later defeated and killed in the battle against Western Qin's Qifu Qiangui.
After Yang Ding's death, his cousin Yang Sheng succeeded to the throne, and there were only two cities in the jurisdiction of Wudu and Yinping, in order to stabilize the situation, Yang Sheng successively claimed the title of Later Qin, Eastern Jin Dynasty, and Liu Song. During the Yang Dynasty, the Houqiuchi state showed a prosperous scene. In the fourth year of Yuan Jia (427 AD), Yang Xuan, the son of Yang Sheng, was made the King of Southern Qin by Northern Wei. Liu Song enfeoffed Yang Xuan of Qin Prefecture and King of Wudu.
Qiu Chi, who had been hanging up for more than a hundred years, perished because he did not hang up.
After Yang Xuan's death, his son Yang Baozong succeeded to the throne, and then Yang Xuan's brother Yang Nandang deposed Yang Baozong to establish himself, Yang Nandang had great ambitions and always wanted to seize the lands of Shu and Han in Song, and in December of the eighteenth year of Song Yuanjia (441), Yang Nandang attacked Liu Song's Yizhou, Liu Song sent troops to counterattack, and soon attacked the territory of Qiuchi, the lord stationed in Qiuchi surrendered to Liu Song, and Yang Nandang, who had no way out, surrendered to Northern Wei at Longyou, and the state of Qiuchi collapsed. In the name of avenging Yang Nandang, Emperor Taiwu of northern Wei divided his troops into four roads and invaded the south on a large scale, and the Great War of Song and Wei caused by the dispute over Qiuchi began. In August of the twenty-first year of Yuan Jia (444), Northern Wei finally won the battle of Qiuchi.
However, the descendants of the Yang clan once again exerted their super hanging skills, and in 447 AD, Qiu Chi was resurrected with blood. Yang Wende was made the military governor of Northern Qin and Yong Prefecture by song. In 478, Liu Song and Northern Wei successively crowned Yang Wenhong, the younger brother of Yang Wendu, the king of Wudu, as the king of Wudu, and this period was also known as Wuxing.
