Sign Rafinha

On Wednesday, the announcement of the signing of Rafinha's agreement is just barcelona's latest business in the summer 2022 transfer market.

Previously, the club board recently outlined an agreement to launch a second financial leverage that would put clubs in a good position to sign the players they need.

The sale of another 15% of the TV rights will provide Barcelona with around €330 million in revenue, while the previous 10% of the rights were also signed with Sixth Street, which had generated €207.5 million by the end of June.

The injection of funds is crucial. First, it provides the money to sign top players. Second, it managed to reduce the pressure on payroll.

The management of Joan Laporta and Eduard Romeu was key to reaching an agreement, which put the club in a good position. Not all funds will be used for transfers. Barcelona know their debt, a portion of which 330 million euros will be used to reduce that debt, but that allows them to go to the market and sign top players.

After already adding free agents Frank Casey and Andreas Christensen, they just struck a deal to sign Rafinha.

Robert Lewandowski could be next, but it's also possible to sign Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso. A transfer for Comte is also a possibility.

The last target is Bernardo Silva, but for him the transfer is much more difficult to complete because City will ask for a lot of money for the Portuguese, as the England club values the player between 90 million and 100 million euros.
