Walk all over the motherland's great rivers and mountains, and enjoy countless beautiful scenery. When it comes to Sichuan, many people will also think of Chengdu, the "country of heavenly capitals," but what we want to introduce today is the smallest city in Sichuan Province, but we must know that "although the sparrow is small, it is complete."

That is Zigong City, located in the low hilly area in the southern part of the Sichuan Basin, with "China's historical and cultural city", known as "the salt capital of a thousand years", "the hometown of dinosaurs", "the lamp city of the southern country" and "the house of food". Zigong has a 2000-year history of the salt industry, the name of Zigong City is also named after salt, here was once full of salt wells, but also because of the abundant production of well salt called "salt capital", by the poet Chen Yunhe called "salty city", also known as "thousand years of salt capital" reputation. In the second season of CCTV's "China on the Tip of the Tongue", there are Zigong salt and delicious foods derived from salt. Among them, the traditional well salt workshop in Zigong City is also quite eye-catching. With an area of 4,381 square kilometers, the city is also the smallest city in Sichuan Province.
Zigong is one of the earliest twenty cities established in the Republic of China, modern and former Zigong was rich and merchants gathered because of the production of well salt, once one of the richest cities in China, but also for the war of resistance against Japan the highest amount of donations in the country, recorded in the Kuomintang military data, the "return to my rivers and mountains" on the north bank of the Puxi River is the famous Kuomintang general Feng Yuxiang for the donation of good deeds for rich businessmen. Zigong City is the first place in the world to develop and utilize natural gas, and the earliest provincial municipality and industrial town in Sichuan Province.
Zigong is also an important source of dinosaur fossils in China, known as the "hometown of dinosaurs", and is famous at home and abroad for the Zigong Dinosaur Museum, one of the three major dinosaur museums in the world. Located on the outskirts of Zigong, Dashanpu is the only natural science museum in China built at the excavation site, mainly based on dinosaur fossils. The dinosaur bones on display in the museum mainly include: "Li's Dinosaur", "Multi-toothed Salt Dragon", "Tianfu Emei Dragon", etc., which are known as "Wonders of the World".
Zigong Lantern Festival, a folk culture with historical traditions. It took shape during the Qing and Ming Dynasties, and gradually evolved into a large-scale folk cultural activity with a relatively fixed connotation, carried out at a specific time period (Spring Festival) and with a certain inheritance route. One of the most significant features is that dozens of large and medium-sized group lights and thousands of craft lights have been organized at previous lantern fairs. The grand scale forms a sea of colored lanterns, like a fairyland, and the light group is large and spectacular, which is amazing. Tourists stroll through it, enter the music of the orchestra, enter the light of thousands of purples and reds, and revel in the unique charm given by the art of colored lanterns.
Although Zigong is not as famous as Chengdu, its long history and unique beauty are all desirable places.
