Nowadays, in various occasions in the society, the performance of graphic designers is closely watched, and today I would like to introduce a popular designer in the Japanese design industry - Haruka Misawa.

Ms. Haruka Misawa's soft and delicate work has been called one of the weather vanes that reflect its trends. Her designs are not only dedicated to solving and defining problems, but her work aims to say: "The things around her also contain the power to open up new possibilities, and there can be new ways of understanding and appreciation." ”

Misawa Haruka was born in Gunma Prefecture in 1982. Graduated from the Faculty of Arts and Crafts at Musashino University of Fine Arts, he worked at Sato Dai's design studio "nendo" and joined the Hara Kenya Design Research Institute at the Japan Design Center in 2009. ●“waterscape”

Haruka Misawa applied 3D printing to fish tanks and created a series of aquarium works, creating a new type of ecological environment for fish. The internal space of the fish tank is composed of a container and water, the environment below the surface of the water is very unique, the energy emitted and the energy surrounded by air on the surface of the water are completely opposite, and under the impetus of buoyancy, the opposite gravity of upward thrust will be generated in the bathtub.

If in the air, the rubble and aquatic weeds will inevitably fall to the ground in an instant, but if placed in the water, the rubble will slowly sink to the bottom of the water, and the aquatic weeds will slowly rise to the surface. In addition, delicate structures that would have been damaged on land because of their own weight can remain stable due to the relative action of gravity and buoyancy. The interaction between gravity and buoyancy is "consciously" controlled. "Waterscape" is a work that focuses on exploring the ecology of aquatic habitats from scratch and actually realizing these observations.

Haruka Misawa also used 3D printing technology to simulate coral, seaweed, etc., creating a simple fish tank. He hopes to capture the balance between "buoyancy" and "gravity" and create a most balanced underwater world, in which the leisurely little fish will not be obscured by these artificial arrangements.

Each aquarium adds a different white structure that subtly separates the underwater environment, and the picture is poetic when the fish swim, these exquisite 3D fish tanks show the aesthetic possibilities that combine nature, art and technology.

●“UENO PLANET”

After 32-year-old Haruka Misawa started her own design lab in 2014, she took over the annual image poster of Ueno Zoo, Japan's oldest zoo, the following year. Using the concept of "UENO PLANET" as the prototype, the Water Planet based on the West Garden and the Forest Planet based on the East Garden were created, which compressed the complicated information of the zoo on a flat surface in an orderly manner, changed people's daily perspective, and showed the entire zoo through a bird's eye view.

The oldest zoo in Japan, Ueno Zoo welcomes a large number of visitors every day and is known as the representative of the Japanese Zoo. With "UENO PLANET", Haruka Misawa won the 2017 Japan Graphic Designers Association Newcomer Award (JAGDA Newcomer Award 2017).

Ueno Zoo hides diverse ecology and countless interesting things to be discovered. This work is designed to express this unknown charm. By observing each of the elements that make up the zoo, we start from different perspectives to recreate the previously overlooked viewing value and increase the enthusiasm of tourists to visit.

● Collection of viewpoints - planning exhibition "Insect Exhibition - Design Template"

It is not so much an "insect exhibition" as a visual design exhibition with "insects" as the medium. It incorporates different design techniques, recreating and examining insects, an element of nature, into a more meaningful art exhibition.
