Osliff with gold necklace

author:Wonderful de cactus

The Osliff house is a dilapidated wooden house at the end of the small town of Torquay. From the Osliff house to the tavern you will pass by a villa that used to be Oslif's home.

Oslif was drunk, his clothes ragged, his hair disheveled, and he leaned against the door of the tavern, like a shell that had tumbled in the ground. He struggled to get up and began to walk in the direction of home. It took a while for Osliff to walk dangling to the door of the house, and he heard the sound of the bowl falling on the ground, very crisp, very angry. He staggered into the door and fell on the edge of a wooden chair in front of the hall. With sticks, hammers, and shovels in their hands, they stepped over Osrif, who had fallen to the ground, and another kicked him.

He vaguely heard his wife crying, but not a moment later he heard the sound of the bowls colliding, and she cleaned the house, dragged him to the room, and whispered, "The children are coming back, wake up!" He got up slowly, his eyes were in the corners of his eyes, his beard was long, he opened his sleeping eyes, rubbed them a few times, seemed to be much more awake, she patted off the dust on her body, called his wife to the room, they sat on the only bed in the room, he took a gold necklace from the inside of his old coat and said to his wife, "Look, this is what I picked up." The wife looked in disbelief at the light coming through the only window of the room with a look of disbelief and asked, "Is this true?" That should be worth a lot of money, right? Sell it and we'll never have to go into debt again. Osliff snatched the gold necklace from his wife's hand and said, "You can't sell it, it's for you." Anna looked at Osliff, as if thoughtful. She couldn't stand this anymore, every three to five people came to smash the family's things, she always had to clean up for a long time, but also to answer the children's questions: "Where is Mommy and Daddy's bed?" How come there are only three bowls? How come Mom's eyes are red? Anna couldn't help sobbing, she didn't know how to answer the children's innocent questions, she was even afraid that one day the children would know, and even more afraid of living such a life forever.

"She was a rich lady, she was beautiful and dignified, gentle and generous, and after marrying Osliff, she became poorer and poorer, and she also owed a large debt." Now Anna is a mother of two children, and the clothes she wears with dozens of patches are her only clothes, and the others are cut and changed into children's clothes. Osliv knew that his wife had cried countless times at night, and the hoarse cries had made him tug at heart, but for the sake of her two children, she preferred to clean the house after the debt collector had left; I'd rather go hungry every day and lie one lie after another in the face of two children's sincere questions.

Since the failure of the business, Osliff spent all day in the tavern, always drunk, and his wife advised him, he never listened to his wife, and spent most of his life in a fog. But this time Oslif seemed sober, and he sincerely said to his wife: "Anna, believe me!" From now on, I will never let you live in poverty again. Anna thought that Osliv had suddenly woken up and that it was time for him to repent. Anna shed tears of excitement as she kissed Osliff on the cheek and walked out of the room. The children returned, and Anna wiped the tears from her face and went over to hug the children. Dinner that day was roast duck, Anna sold the scarf she had knitted for three days, and the children were well fed, and so was Anna.

Anna got up early the next day, but Osrif wasn't there. Anna went out early, she went to the gold shop, Anna planned to secretly sell the gold necklace to pay off the debt. Anna carefully took the gold necklace wrapped in a veil from her pocket and handed it to the clerk, but soon Anna wrapped it up again and left. On the way back, Anna seemed melancholy. Passing the tavern, she saw a man lying on the edge of a street lamppost. It's Osliff! This made Anna very angry, she did not know whether Oslif knew that the necklace was fake, but she knew, Osliv did not repent, he was still so hopeless.

Anna came home, she cried a lot, and then made lunch for the children. The following month, life in the Osliv family became more and more difficult, and Osliv had not returned home for a month, Anna went to see him once, he took all the money from Anna and never appeared again. One day, when Anna came home, her youngest son saw Anna running out and said, "Mom, my brother is ignoring me." Anna was tired, and she dragged her tired body to find her eldest son in a corner by a wooden chair. His whole body was cold, and he looked as if he were asleep. Anna began to cry bitterly, holding the child tightly in her arms, and the other child, as if he knew something, pulled the corner of Anna's clothes and cried, "I want brother!" I want my brother! Anna took her child to the crematorium and left Osris's house with the child's ashes and another child.

A few years later, Anna went to that town, and she heard that Oslif had married the daughter of a wealthy merchant, but Anna's heart did not have any waves. Anna left, wearing the gold necklace around her neck.
