The first project that Jiang Wentao participated in was the Xiamen-Shenzhen Passenger Dedicated Double Eagle Top Tunnel, with a total length of 9,275 meters, which crossed 10 faults and a goaf area. Jiang Wentao, a fledgling technician at the time, followed his master every day and squatted in the tunnel with a small book, recording how the workers measured and punched holes. What Jiang Wentao remembers most is that "a rock explosion occurred during construction, and more than two tons of stones almost hit him." Later, every time Jiang Wentao's master entered the tunnel, he went first to see the situation and let him follow behind.

Jiang Wentao recalled: "The first project coincided with the Beijing Olympic Games, and the whole industrial area was gathered around the canteen to watch the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games, and the whole industrial area was such a TV set. ”

The second project that Jiang Wentao participated in was a heavy-duty railway in Shanxi. "There is no road there, in the ravine, the project department relies on people to carry vegetables to the work area, and there is no signal." Jiang Wentao recalled the scene to the reporter of China Youth Daily and China Youth Network, "For about 9 months, we basically had no contact with the outside world. ”

Solid professional skills and hard-working quality, so that Jiang Wentao quickly stood out in the 12th bureau of China Railway.

"In the construction of the railway corridor in central and southern Shanxi, considering the geological environment of the loess, the upper side is sometimes soil, the lower side is stone, and the stone below is to explode, which will trigger the risk of the soil above shaking and falling off the block." How to solve the problem of loess silty clay tunnel construction is in front of us. In 2010, Jiang Wentao, who loved to think, took the initiative to take on this problem and began to tackle the problem of independent technology.

The construction of the long loess tunnel is an international problem, and there is no mature experience to learn from. Jiang Wentao led the team to set up a scientific research team, while humbly asking for advice from experienced old comrades, while optimizing the blasting method and finding a way to quickly achieve the sealing of the surrounding rock.

In view of the characteristics of loess with collapsing nature, silty clay with expansion, and poor stability of the soil-stone demarcation interface, Jiang Wentao aimed at "construction and measurement technology of collapsible loess tunnel", "geological construction technology of soil and stone horizontal contact surface of railway large-section tunnel", "construction technology of shallow buried section of loess tunnel" and other strong research.

Through the comparative analysis of the drilling position map and the site situation, the design optimization focuses on the key links such as the uncoupled charge coefficient, the peripheral eye spacing, the light burst layer, and the charge structure.

"Finally, the number of drilled holes was gradually reduced from 247 holes to 192, the single consumption of explosives was gradually reduced from 1 kg per cubic meter to 0.72 kg, and the average linear over-excavation of the arch wall was reduced from 18-20 cm in the previous period to 15-18 cm, achieving centimeter-level control accuracy on more than 140 square meters of working surfaces." Jiang Wentao said.

Up to 3 years of technical research, Jiang Wentao led the team to form a scientific research result such as the tunnel construction method of the earth-stone demarcation section with independent intellectual property rights, which reached the leading level in China and saved huge costs. Today, this achievement has become a "textbook" to guide the construction of long loess tunnels in China.

Jiang Wentao also took the lead in the research on the construction technology of shallow buried soft rock tunnels, participated in the construction of the Yingpanshan Tunnel of the Chengkun Railway in the difficult and dangerous mountainous areas of southwest china, and overcome the world's technical problems of "collecting gushing water, gas, rock explosion, and high-altitude stress are equal to one body", and completed the task that foreign experts called "impossible".

He told reporters: "We must have a spirit of not being afraid of death in this line, and when we encounter problems, we will do everything possible to overcome it, and the most direct thing is war." ”

"Come for responsibility, fight for dignity!" This is the belief that Jiang Wentao adheres to, "The builders of our generation have caught up with the good times of the great construction of the motherland, and many things they have done are groundbreaking, which is an honor and a mission." ”

In 2020, Jiang Wentao was selected as the construction leader of the first special high-risk tunnel on the entire line of the Plateau Railway, and he once again packed his bags and rushed to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

This time, 90% of the construction work points of the pipe section that Jiang Wentao is responsible for are concentrated in the high mountain ravines, which is the lifeline of the plateau railway construction. The tunnel surface is more than 3,000 meters above sea level, with a slope of 60 to 70 degrees, the geology is loose, and the excavation of the sidewalk will be accompanied by dangerous rocks falling and the local power and material supply is very tight.

In just over 3 months, Jiang Wentao led the team to safely cross the 5 Yarra River active fault zones and their branch fault zones, efficiently completed the construction of the most difficult, longest, most complex geological terrain and the highest environmental protection requirements in the early stage of the plateau railway, won the "five firsts" excellent results of the whole line, and set up a plateau railway construction model.

The construction period of the plateau railway construction section undertaken by the 12th Bureau of China Railway is 10 years, Jiang Wentao told reporters: "The most difficult road sections in the first two years have been opened, and there will be new difficulties in the future, but we are confident that we can cope with it." ”

Affected by the epidemic, Jiang Wentao and all the personnel stayed at the construction site, and it became normal to be unable to go home and reunite with their families on holidays. "Many of our builders are selflessly dedicated and persevering, and during this year, some people's fathers fell ill and did not go back; Some people have wives who have children and don't go back, and they are worried about delaying the construction progress..." he said.
