White-gray insects appeared on the trees on the sidewalk of Zibo Zhangdian accidentally sucked into the mouth

On the morning of September 16, there were many plane wood square-winged net bugs on a leaf on a tree on West 5th Road in Zhangdian District. According to reports, the brown spots on the leaves are the result of the bay-winged reticulated bugs sucking the sap of the leaves of the trees. Photo by reporter Chen Si

On September 16, Mr. Lu, a citizen, reported to this newspaper that recently, a large number of unknown white-gray insects appeared on the sidewalk trees of some major sections of Zibo City, which annoyed passers-by.

Mr. Lu introduced that this small bug is white and gray, the size is similar to half a rice grain, and if you are not careful, you may be sucked into your mouth, and you don't know what kind of bug it is and whether it is harmful to the human body.

During the interview, the reporter found that liuquan road, west fifth road, century road and other sections of the road, there are such small insects flying. On some of the tung trees, there are more than a dozen of these small insects on a single leaf, and there are many brown spots on the leaves of this small insect.

Wang Junliang, director of the Zibo Wildlife Conservation Station, introduced that these small insects are a pest called plane wood square winged net bugs, which belong to the invasion of foreign forestry pests, which originate in North America, mainly endangering the plane tree species, commonly known as "Fatong" is the plane tree species. This insect is highly reproducible and hardy, and the minimum survival temperature of adult insects is 12.2 °C.

"This kind of insect mainly sucks the sap of the host tree leaves, and the leaves cannot perform normal photosynthesis when they are sucked, which definitely has an impact on the growth of the tree." Wang said that the prevention and control of plane wood square-winged reticulated bugs usually uses methods such as canopy spray, trunk spray and trunk injection.

Subsequently, the reporter contacted the Zhangdian District Garden Bureau, and the staff said that they had sprayed drugs on some trees and would continue to strengthen spraying operations.
