1. Atlantic Coast In the eyes of many tourists, the 10-kilometer coastal strip from Bakau to Krory is all of Gambia. 5. Abuco Nature Reserve Look for rare birds and giant crocodiles in the tiny Abuco Nature Reserve, which is likely to be the best national park in the Gambia. Getting to Abuco is simple and doesn't require a car to enter, which is rare in wildlife sanctuaries in Africa. The reserve is well managed, with an astonishing variety of vegetation and animals, and although Abuco is small, there are more than 250 species of birds recorded, making it one of the best bird watching locations in the area (the best bird watching activity in the early morning). The reserve is best known for the Nile crocodile and other reptiles such as pythons, drum-bellied vipers, green mambas and forest cobras.
6. Jangyampur Follow the call of the bird into the forest near Jangyapur. Once the administrative center of the colony, this small, sleepy town sits on the northern edge of McCarthy Island on the Gambia River, arriving by ferry from both sides of the river. Janjanpur has almost no infrastructure, but walking around the town you can see several historic buildings. The main purpose of coming here is to find a local hotel to stay in and enjoy excellent bird watching conditions.
7. Banjul It is hard to imagine a capital that has been neglected for a longer time than Banjul.
