In 1971, an old Chinese-American woman claimed that the Diaoyu Islands belonged to her family and took out Cixi's handwriting

author:A national view of history

In 1970, the mainland successfully restored its seat in the United Nations, but the following year, the United States created a shocking conspiracy to confuse the ownership of the Diaoyu Islands.

To this end, the mainland and the United States and Japan have held many rounds of consultations, and in 1971, the US Senate also held a hearing to discuss the ownership of the Diaoyu Islands.

During the meeting, a mysterious Chinese-American woman entered the venue, holding a document in her hand, and threatened: Diaoyu Islands are my home!

In 1971, an old Chinese-American woman claimed that the Diaoyu Islands belonged to her family and took out Cixi's handwriting

As soon as this remark came out, it undoubtedly caused a lot of laughter, but it also made some people feel strange: Why did such a white-haired old man dare to argue that the Diaoyu Islands belonged to her?

So, who is this old man? Where did she dare to say that the Diaoyu Islands belonged to her family? What is the purpose of this emphasis? All of this must start from the background of the times at that time.

The island belongs to China

First of all, we cannot deny the fact that the Diaoyu Islands belong to China 100% of the time, and there is no doubt about it.

As early as the Southern Song Dynasty, the Diaoyu Islands entered the jurisdiction of the mainland, and after many dynasties, the Diaoyu Islands have been under the management of Huaxia.

In 1971, an old Chinese-American woman claimed that the Diaoyu Islands belonged to her family and took out Cixi's handwriting

(Diaoyu Islands)

After the Sino-Japanese War, Japan forced the mainland to sign an unequal treaty, the Treaty of Maguan, forcibly assigned a number of islands, including the Diaoyu Islands, to Japan's territory, and renamed them the "Senkaku Islands."

After the end of World War II, all the unequal treaties signed by Japan as a defeated country should be null and void, and all the land that was previously divided should be returned, so the jurisdiction of diaoyu Dao and other islands should be returned to China at this time.

Unfortunately, due to U.S. interference, coupled with the inaction of the Kuomintang at the time, the Diaoyu Islands were unilaterally taken away by the United States in 1951 along with the Ryukyu Islands.

However, in the treaty, the jurisdiction of the United States should not include the Diaoyu Islands, and the ambitious United States unreasonably demarcated a new land boundary without authorization to include the Diaoyu Islands belonging to China.

Coupled with the complicated domestic situation on the mainland at that time, there was no spare strength to confront the United States, so the Diaoyu Islands were shamelessly and unilaterally occupied by the United States.

What is even more shameless is that with the improvement of diplomatic relations between the United States and Japan, when the United States returned the Ryukyu Islands to Japan, it actually wanted to divide the Diaoyu Islands to Japan together with the Diaoyu Islands, and this is exactly what Japan wanted.

At that time, the mainland's national strength gradually rose, and the issue of the ownership of the Diaoyu Islands was also taken seriously, and public protests began in the international arena, and the diaoyu Islands problem intensified.

As the jurisdiction of the mainland since ancient times, the Diaoyu Dao is the sacred and inviolable territory of the mainland, and for the sake of national dignity and national interests, the mainland can never give in half a point on this matter.

So why does Japan want to compete for the Diaoyu Islands?

First of all, it must be the arching fire behavior of the United States in the back, and the intention of the United States is very obvious - to intensify the diplomatic contradictions between China and Japan and to break China's international friendship.

Secondly, Japan has been coveting the Diaoyu Islands for many years, and in 1969, some geographical experts pointed out that the Diaoyu Islands are rich in natural resources, and even have oil resources, and Japan has to compete for the Diaoyu Islands with a thick skin.

Fast forward to 1970, the United States directly through diplomacy, claiming that the Diaoyu Islands and the Ryukyu Islands belong to Japan. This statement undoubtedly made the Chinese people around the world angry.

Japan, which did not dare to shout publicly before, was obviously full of confidence after receiving the support of the United States, and it was quite a bit of a dog-fighting posture, saying: The Senkaku Islands belong to Japan.

Not only the governments of the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, but even the Chinese and overseas Chinese were furious about this, and Chinese people around the world began various "fishing activities".

The aforementioned hearing on the ownership of the Diaoyu Islands was also held in such a context, so what about the Chinese American who claims that the Diaoyu Islands belong to her family?

Mysterious Scrolls, Cixi Oracle

It is reported that this Chinese woman's name is Xu Yi, which is not a well-known name, no one knows her, it seems that she is not a person with a strong background?

Xu Yi claimed that the Diaoyu Islands belonged to her, there was "evidence", she took out a mysterious scroll, its old materials and yellow and red color matching, enough to make people think.

She opened this mysterious scroll in front of everyone, and what came into her eyes was a huge red seal with several big words written on it: Treasure of Empress Dowager Cixi!

In 1971, an old Chinese-American woman claimed that the Diaoyu Islands belonged to her family and took out Cixi's handwriting

(Cixi)

This half-meter-long scroll was actually Cixi's handwritten oracle! You know, Cixi, as the actual ruler of the Qing government at that time, if this is really her oracle, then this Ms. Xu Yi's statement is likely to be true.

Of course, the premise is that this oracle is indeed Cixi's handwritten oracle.

The scrolls contain a lot of content, with beautiful, cumbersome handwriting written on them:

"Empress Dowager Mercy:

The pills entered by The Taichang Temple Zhengqing Sheng Xuanhuai are very effective, according to the raw material version, collected from the Diaoyu Islands off the coast of Taiwan, the elixir is produced at sea, and the effect is extraordinary in Middle-earth. Knowing that the Qing family set up a pharmacy, diagnosed and administered medicines to alleviate poverty and diseases, it was particularly commendable, that is, the three small islands of Diaoyu Island, Huangwei Island and Chiwei Island were given to Sheng Xuanhuai as an industry, and the use of medicine on behalf of sheng Xuanhuai was given, and his deep body Empress Dowager and Emperor Rendepu were favored. Thanks.

Guangxu 19th October"

It seems that there is really a little meaning, for a moment, people do not know what to suspect, and there is a seal with the word "royal reward" on the top, which seems to be in line with the form of the oracle at that time.

So, where did this oracle come from, and is it true or false? This requires telling the story of Sheng Xuanhuai, the "father of Chinese industry".

Father of industry, enfeoffed island

The name Sheng Xuanhuai may not be familiar to everyone, but when it comes to the "foreign affairs movement", people may have an impression. The Western Affairs Movement was a series of innovative movements launched by the Qing government in order to introduce Western technology, and Sheng Xuanhuai was one of the representative figures.

Sheng Xuanhuai's family was well-off, and his father, Sheng Kang, was a not small official in the middle of the dynasty, so Sheng Xuanhuai had been reading scriptures since he was a child, but unfortunately, his talent in the examination was not good, and he failed to make the list in three consecutive county examinations.

In 1971, an old Chinese-American woman claimed that the Diaoyu Islands belonged to her family and took out Cixi's handwriting

(Sheng Xuanhuai)

Perhaps it is his father's emphasis on practicing the educational method of true knowledge, and Sheng Xuanhuai adheres to the principle of doing practical things in the world, and does not stick to the principle of death.

After not getting on the list, because Sheng Kang and Li Hongzhang had some friendship, Sheng Xuanhuai was recommended to work with Li Hongzhang, and Li Hongzhang then launched the "Foreign Affairs Movement", and Sheng Xuanhuai, who was good at doing practical things, became his right-hand man.

During the Western Affairs Movement, Sheng Xuanhuai opened many enterprises, founded many universities, opened a number of charitable organizations, and created Eleven "Firsts" in China.

Sheng Xuanhuai thus became a famous industrialist and philanthropist at that time, organizing many donation activities and carrying out various disaster relief campaigns, including a charity called "Guangrentang".

Guangrentang's business scope is very wide, including fundraising, disaster relief, and treatment of diseases and people, Guangrentang's treatment business also laid the groundwork for the subsequent connection between Sheng Xuanhuai and Cixi.

Although Cixi bowed to the government and was the lord of the Qing Dynasty, she was still trapped by the age problem, and there were many small problems in her body, and rheumatism has always plagued Cixi.

The imperial physician in the court was also helpless against this, so Cixi planned to find some folk recipes. Guangren Hall, which was quite famous at that time, entered Cixi's eyes.

In 1971, an old Chinese-American woman claimed that the Diaoyu Islands belonged to her family and took out Cixi's handwriting

(Sheng Xuanhuai)

Cixi immediately ordered Guangrentang to send someone to cure himself of rheumatism, and after Sheng Xuanhuai, he dared to be sloppy, quickly ordered someone to collect a good recipe, and finally presented a prescription to Cixi, but he did not expect that Cixi had some effect after several courses of treatment according to the pharmacy.

Cixi Dayue immediately found Sheng Xuanhuai, the steward of Guangren Hall, and first praised a few words, and then asked: Where did this Fangzi's medicinal materials come from? Why do they have different effects?

Sheng Xuanhuai replied: The medicinal herbs used in this party are taken from the sea hibiscus on the Diaoyu Island on the small island of the East China Sea, which has the function of curing all diseases and has a miraculous effect on rheumatism.

After listening, Cixi smiled and decided to give the Diaoyu Island to Sheng Xuanhuai, hoping that he could collect medicine on the island for generations, so he had the oracle in Xu Yi's hand, of course, whether all this was true or not we still don't know.

According to the feudal rules at that time, if Cixi really issued this edict, then the Diaoyu Islands should indeed belong to Sheng Xuanhuai, after all, the Diaoyu Islands were the territory of the Qing government, and they could give them to whomever they wanted.

In desperation, the Western countries invaded, and the Qing government was defeated by Japan in the Sino-Japanese War, and the Diaoyu Islands were ruthlessly dispossessed, and after several decades, they were returned because of Japan's defeat.

So during this period, how did Sheng Xuanhuai act?

Sheng Xuanhuai died in 1916, and later generations also praised him as an industrialist and philanthropist, and Mr. Lu Xun angrily called him a traitor.

In 1971, an old Chinese-American woman claimed that the Diaoyu Islands belonged to her family and took out Cixi's handwriting

Sheng Xuanhuai had many children under his knees, but some died young, and some did not do their jobs, so the family wealth he left behind was quickly destroyed.

In the end, the property was inherited by Sheng Xuanhuai's fourth son, Sheng Enyi, but as mentioned earlier, Sheng Enyi was completely a loser, plus he himself had no ability, so he quickly destroyed the family property.

Speaking of Sheng Enyi's personal relationship, he married in his early years because he had some family property in his hands, and he also had many heirs, but his children left after his bankruptcy.

Sheng Yuzhen is a daughter of Sheng Enyi, who was adopted by him in early years to a friend surnamed Xu in Taiwan. Sheng Yuzhen developed well and already had a lot of savings in Taiwan, so Sheng Enyi wrote to Sheng Yuzhen.

Sheng Enyi said that he passed on the Diaoyu Island Oracle inherited from his father Sheng Xuanhuai to Sheng Yuzhen, hoping that the two could get back together, and Sheng Enyi's purpose was very clear - he hoped that his daughter could support herself.

After all, the father and daughter were together, so Sheng Yuzhen agreed, so it was passed around, and this Cixi handbook was passed to Sheng Yuzhen.

Pass on the clouds of doubt, the handwriting is true or false

Then, according to the previous article, since the oracle passed into sheng Yuzhen's hands, why was Xu Yi able to get this oracle?

It turned out that Xu Yi and Sheng Yuzhen were actually the same person. After Sheng Enyi passed it on to a friend surnamed Xu in Taiwan, Sheng Yuzhen changed his name to Xu Yi with his surname Xu.

In 1971, an old Chinese-American woman claimed that the Diaoyu Islands belonged to her family and took out Cixi's handwriting

(Chinese Fishing Sport)

In this way, it can be explained that Xu Yi is actually a descendant of Sheng Xuanhuai, and she has indeed inherited the relics left by Sheng Xuanhuai, that is, Cixi's handwritten handwritten instructions.

After determining Xu Yi's heir, a new question arises – is this oracle authentic and valid?

First of all, if this oracle is true, can Xu Yi get the ownership of the Diaoyu Islands? The answer, of course, is no doubt no.

This handwriting was written by Cixi in the late Qing Dynasty, when China was still a feudal society, "the whole world can not be the king's land", the land is Cixi's, she wants to give to whomever she wants, but the times have changed.

At that time, China was already a socialist democracy, and the land no longer belonged to individuals, let alone such an important island as the Diaoyu Dao, so even if this oracle was true, Xu Yi could not get the ownership of the Diaoyu Islands at all.

What's more, this oracle is a fake.

First of all, as stated above in the oracle, Sheng Xuanhuai's official position was the position of "Taichang Shi Zhengqing", and according to the records, Sheng Xuanhuai never seemed to have held this position.

The only mention of the history related to Sheng Xuanhuai and the position of Taichang Waiter is two years after xu Yi's story, which is obviously very different from what Xu Yi said.

In addition to the inconsistency of official positions, the style of this oracle is also somewhat promising. According to the identification of relevant experts, the material, format and color of this oracle are obviously different from the real Cixi oracle.

The statement of Sheng Yudu, another descendant of the Sheng family, is also very different from what Xu Yi said.

According to Sheng Yudu, it was actually Sheng Xuanhuai who had been hinted at by the eunuch before treating Cixi' illness: he hoped that Sheng Xuanhuai would give them a little benefit, so that Cixi could give him the Diaoyu Island.

In 1971, an old Chinese-American woman claimed that the Diaoyu Islands belonged to her family and took out Cixi's handwriting

Of course, this was obviously a trick of the eunuchs to deceive the benefits, and Sheng Xuanhuai, who knew that he did not want to cause trouble, gave them some money, and these eunuchs really gave Sheng Xuanhuai an edict, but Sheng Xuanhuai himself knew that it was fake.

If what Sheng Yudu said was true, then the oracle in Xu Yi's hand was likely to be a fake edict, and the real edict would not be useful, let alone a fake oracle.

In fact, the evidence and stories presented by Xu Yi are only an episode in this hearing, and people have not taken it seriously.

However, judging from the stories told by Xu Yi and Sheng Yudu, at least it can be shown that the Diaoyu Islands really belong to China, and the ancient times were, are, and will be.
