Turkey was sanctioned by the United States for the purchase of the Russian S-400 air defense system, not only was the delivery time of the F-16 fighter shelved, but also kicked out of the F-35 fighter project by the United States, and the relationship between the two sides once fell to the freezing point. But the international situation is sometimes so unpredictable, and Turkey, which vowed not to allow the two countries to enter the treaty a few days ago, has made a 180-degree change in attitude at the NATO summit. More subtly, just after Turkey made concessions, Biden announced his support for the supply of F-16s to Turkey. Although Biden denies that this is an exchange between the two sides, there is no catty in it, whether it is an exchange of interests, I believe that everyone has their own answer in their hearts.

The reason why Turkey, which had previously taken a hard-line attitude, made concessions was also because of the unoppostic situation at home. In this way, Turkey has obtained the lifting of U.S. sanctions on its weapons. And in this NATO summit, we also saw the results. In order to make money, the United States will not hesitate to "hand over the knife" to two NATO members at the same time, and revoke the sanctions on Turkish weapons, which will indeed make the United States a lot of money, but it will also make the already tense Turkish-Greek relations more shadowed. It will make the rift within NATO deeper and deeper.

Turkey and Greece belong to NATO, but the military strength is not a star and a half. As the second most conventional military power among NATO members, Turkey's energy cannot be underestimated. Therefore, for Turkey, the United States also attaches great importance to it. Coupled with Turkey's geographical location in the Middle East, it is impossible for the United States to ignore it.
