Early life
Michelle Rodriguez was born in 1978 in San Antonio, Texas. Her mother is Dominican and her father is Puerto Rican who served in the U.S. Army. Rodriguez moved with his mother to the Dominican Republic at the age of eight and lived there until the age of 11. Later, she moved to Puerto Rico until she was 17 years old, eventually settling in Jersey City, New Jersey.

She dropped out of William L. Dickinson High School but later earned a GED certificate. She was expelled from five schools in total, attended business school for a time, then gave up her studies to pursue an acting career, with the ultimate goal of becoming a screenwriter and director.
Rodriguez has 10 siblings. She was raised by her maternal grandmother for a time, and she had been a jehovah's Witness since she was a child, although she later abandoned this belief. The TV show "Roots" conducted a DNA test on Rodriguez, and the results showed that her ancestors were 72.4% European, 21.3% African and 6.3% Indian.
Acting career

Rodriguez played a troublesome boxer in the independent film Girls Punch (2000), a groundbreaking role that was well received by critics and earned her several awards, including the Independent Spirit Award and the Gotham Award for Best Debut Performance. The following year, she played Letty in the blockbuster film Fast and Furious (2001), a role she played in six other films in the Fast and Furious series. She has also starred in many successful action films, including Resident Evil, Counter Terrorist SWAT Team, Battle of Los Angeles, Avatar, Machete Kill and Alita: Battle Angel.
On television, Rodriguez played Ana Lucia Cortez in the second season of the TV series Lost. She has also voiced video games several times, such as Call of Duty and Halo, and voiced the 3D animated film Speed Snail and the TV series IGPX.
Personal life
Rodriguez's hobbies include tactical gun training, skydiving, and DJs.
In early 2000, Rodriguez canceled his marriage to a Muslim boyfriend on the grounds that he objected to her religious demands. In 2001, she reportedly dated her partner van Diesel in Fast and Furious.
In 2014, Michelle Rodriguez admitted to coming out and dating British model Carla Divay, but the relationship soon came to an end. After that, she socialized with Zach Efron.
