Polish catamaran manufacturer Sunreef Yachts has announced the launch of a new range of 40-meter and 50-meter catamaran adventure yachts, and has hired Mike Horn, one of the world's most experienced hikers and adventurers, as its brand ambassador.

Sunreef says the new series aims to explore new routes around the world. Its groundbreaking design combines seaworthiness, reliability and extreme ranges for long-distance voyages. It will be built on the basis of the Sunreef 50M (164 feet) announced this spring.

Sunreef will leverage its partnership with Horn to expand its adventure themes to a wider audience. Horn, 55, has been appearing on three French TV channels since 2015. He was born in South Africa and now lives with his family in the Swiss Alps.

It is conservative to say that Mike Horn likes to take risks. Over the past two decades, he has completed extraordinary expeditions. This includes completing one-person's equatorial journey by non-self-propelled boat and kayak (plus bicycle); From 2002 to 2004, he hiked 12,000 miles alone in the Arctic Circle, using boats, kayaks, ski kites and feet, without using any motorized means of transport. He also traveled the world for four years to educate young people about the environment.

Horn also went on a six-month trip alone to the South American continent, trekking out of the Pacific Ocean, climbing to the source of the Amazon in the Peruvian Andes, and then down the Amazon until it reached the Atlantic Ocean.

The Sunreef Adventure Series is a new generation of adventure superyachts with shallow drafts, unrivalled volumes and huge entertainment areas designed to sail anywhere from the tropics to the Arctic. The fully customizable Sunreef Adventure Series will offer the safest circumnavigation platform, with custom-designed interiors as well as water sports and entertainment facilities.

Francis Lapp, founder and president of Sunreef Yachts, said, "The definition of luxury has changed over the years. Today, true luxury is a feeling, an experience. As a shipyard, our business extends far beyond shipbuilding. We create emotions, we create magical moments at sea and dreams come true. Our new range of expedition boats is about living in the moment. ”

Overall, the series prioritizes long-range cruises to support extended ranges. Similar to Horn's adventures, yachts and superyachts are designed to encourage customers to discover new areas. Of course, redundancy systems and strong fuel economy, combined with the efficiency of the catamaran hull, are important factors.

The 50-meter catamaran (pictured above) is designed to be self-sufficient for weeks or even months, with plenty of room to store food and redundant mechanical systems; It even has a state-of-the-art waste management system.

The Sunreef Adventure Collection also follows Sunreef Yachts' semi-custom design philosophy. This means that customers can customize interior observation lounges, state cabins, open air areas, and more. For example, the 40M Sunreef Catamaran can be fitted with a hydraulic folding platform at the stern, turning the stern into a full-width (44 ft/13.34 m) beach club. The master cabin on the main deck can also be designed with an expandable balcony.

Sunreef Yachts was founded by Francis Lapp in Gdansk, Poland, in 2002, and since then the shipyard has been designing and manufacturing luxury catamarans and catamarans.
