McAllen embarked on a global journey of discovery, working with the Rocca brothers, the two-time winner of "The World's 50 Best Restaurants", to explore different cultures and distill the essence of the world's most renowned cities, inspiring a range of single malt whiskies and creative cuisines.
The two whiskies brought in this time are McCarran-inspired Urban Collection New York and London.
McAllen-inspired Urban Collection New York Single Malt Whisky
The McAllen Urban Collection New York was created by Macallan whisky maker Polly Logan in collaboration with the Rocca brothers. The latest in the McAllen-inspired Urban collection, this whisky is a blend of six European and American oak barrels that blend the modern flair of New York's skyscrapers and artistic heritage, bringing together the best of New York's street food. Whisky's original apple flavor echoes New York's nickname "Big Apple, along with the sweetness of classic American candy, accompanied by peanut and chocolate flavors.
The Rocca brothers also designed a special menu that included potatoes and donuts with secret sauces, waffles with chicken sauce and sugar cane juice, and marinated and smoked New York steaks. Their classic dessert, "Big Apple," features caramel apples filled with applesauce and milk chocolate.
Housed in a white display box engraved with a New York Aerial Survey, this whisky is accompanied by a book that showcases the inspiration, process and craftsmanship behind the creation of this single malt whisky, as well as New York photography.
McCarran Flavor Urban Collection London Single Malt Whisky
Inspired by The Macallan Urban Collection London is inspired by The London journey of Macallan whisky maker Steven Bremner and the Rocca brothers, who collaborate with London's creative craftsmen and thinkers to capture its temperament and style, discover the local spirit, and pour it into a single malt whisky.
Blending notes of orange caramel, curry spices and Earl's Tea, this whisky showcases the soul of London while retaining McAllen's signature flavours.
In addition, it comes with a display box engraved with a characteristic triangle design representing the map of London, and the box contains a book documenting the story behind the single malt whisky making and The Photography of London.
